Even though God and a whole shitload of popes and priests have clearly pointed out that women are worthless and inferior?

Some Catholics do believe that women should be able to be priests. However neither God nor the Pope feel women are worthless or inferior.

+ Equality +

Other than not ordaining women (explained below), the Catholic Church teaches complete equality:

Created in the image of the one God and equally endowed with rational souls, all men and women have the same nature and the same origin. Redeemed by the sacrifice of Christ, all are called to participate in the same divine beatitude: all therefore enjoy an equal dignity.

The equality of men and women rests essentially on their dignity as persons and the rights that flow from it:

Every form of social or cultural discrimination in fundamental personal rights on the grounds of sex, race, color, social conditions, language, or religion must be curbed and eradicated as incompatible with God's design.

+ Ordination of women +

The Catechism of the Catholic Church states:

The Lord Jesus chose men to form the college of the twelve apostles, and the apostles did the same when they chose collaborators to succeed them in their ministry.

The Church recognizes herself to be bound by this choice made by the Lord himself. For this reason the ordination of women is not possible.

+ With love in Christ.

God has never said anything. And there HAVE been women priests way back in the hay day. Very early in the religion, the problem is that the male priests want absolute power and say. Hence they denounced women (like their moms were guys), and that led to a whole bunch of crap we saw during the dark ages and middles ages. It's better now, at least Catholics don't KILL people openly for their views.

Popes are infalliable, not perfect. It just means they can't be questioned on whether they're making a good decision or a bad one. Men and women have been in a power struggle in Catholicism for a long time, it's just after the 70's, feminist groups started coming out and the whole wave of women power has led to SOME improvements in accepting people for a religion.

AND Catholicism isn't a bad religion, just like in EVERY other religion out there, there are bad seeds, and they're usually the ones that get power. Why? Because they're the only ones that are ambitious, the ones that aren't are those that are doing the studies, and all the other religious stuff.

Well, a whole shitload of popes and priests have been astoundingly wrong on an entire range of issues.

Personally, I'm Episcopalian. And we have women priests. And it hasn't affected the church one bit.
