where in the scripture does it say anything about the ascention(?) of Mary into Heaven? And why do you pray to her for intercession when Jesus says he is the only way to the Father and the only intercessor?

Mary's Assumption.

Accession is when Jesus (God) can move freely between heaven & Hell since he's God. Mother Mary was Assumed (Mind, Body, & Soul) because Jesus loved her so much. Her Assumption is the hope we Christains have that Jesus too will love us and "Assume us all into heaven".

In the Bible: Rev 19:16 & 1 Thess 4:14.

Prayer is to ask. I can ask you to Pray for me. Have you ever said to someone you know, "Please Pray for me"? Same thing. Mary is Mother to all of us; since we belive she's been "Assumed" well, we feel that if she helps us ask God, well, we might get a little extra help. Kinda like when you goto Mom to butter up Dad to borrow the family car. Anything helps. While asking you to pray for me is like getting my baby sibling to ask too ... very cute and sometimes irrisistable.

--Is Catholic--

First, you should know that not everything that is true is in the scripture. So it is absolutely ridiculous for you to want me to prove something by finding a verse in scripture. What you want to ask is "does Catholic belief XXXX contradict scripture?". If Catholic belief XXXX does not contradict scripture there will either be 1.) an explicit or implicit reference that allows for believe XXXX OR 2.) Nothing in scripture that explicitly or implicitly says NOT XXXX but in the life of the early Church we find a constant teaching of XXXX.

Does BV Mary's asumption contradict scripture? No. Implicit reference: we know implicity that God can and has assumed people into heaven (cf Elijah and Enoch). Explicit reference Rev. 12:1 - we see Mary, the "woman," clothed with the sun. While in Rev. 6:9 we only see the souls of the martyrs in heaven, in Rev. 12:1 we see Mary, both body and soul. In the tradition of the Church we find a constant belief that Mary was assumed into heaven.

Does the Catholic belief of the intercession of Mary contradict scripture? No. I'll let you do your own reading of scripture for yourself, but if you want to cheat, read http://www.catholic.com/library/Praying_to_the_Saints.asp which gives all the scripture verses.
