I keep telling them that it's pronounced "boo--kay" but they still keep saying Bucket.

Hyacinth dear it's time to realise that you are just a social climber, I know it's harsh but you have to face facts - you're a snob, and yes, your name is BUCKET!
And as for Sheridan - he's gay.

by comming up with a universal answer that you use in every situation one worded in suach a manner that conveys that you get miss pronounced all the time it's nothing. then get on with whatever is on your mind
if you get it over the fist time its mispronounced then typically it's a dead issue with that person never to bother you again

if it is just a little bit off, then i would try hard to ignore it. if it is extremely bothersome though,
have somebody else walk by and say hi __name__.
if they dont pick up on that, try introducing yourself to somebody in front of them, using the correct pronunciation that is. try not to make it too obvious to embarass them though.
lastly, you could leave, and go back a little later and say hi __name__.. is that how you say it.. they may say the same back!!
