Is it generally in bad taste to not give birthday presents to brothers/sisters-in-law?

I don't give presents to in-laws. I don't even send cards. I send cards and gifts to my siblings. My family is large, so I don't send out gifts to the in-laws. Nor, do they send gifts to me.

If I did receive gifts from in-laws, i would try to reciprocate. :)

At Christmastime,we send out "big" family gifts to everyone. Usually food gifts! I'm from Ohio, so I send out chocolate buckeyes!

At least send a card with a personal message inside.

I don't think it's in bad taste not to. A card acknowledging them would be appropriate.

We do cards with movie tickets inside. That way, I'm also treating my sibling to a nice treat!
