Once that dehydration has been ruled out for cause of very dark urine, and if other such indicators for possible kidney, bladder infection do exist (nausea, recurring fever over 2-3 days, lower back and sides ache) is the dark urine also common?

Bilirubin in urine can also cause dark coloration which could indicate liver disease. Also, there are several metabolic diseases which can cause dark pigmentation. Other urochromes are naturally occuring.

Bladder infection symptoms include: frequency of urination, having to go all the time but then not being able to go, bleeding when peeing, pain during urination. Some foods do cause coloration of urine. Blood cells in the urine can cause it to be red or if the cells break down it can be dark colored.Bacteria causing bladder and kidney infction are usually gram negative and require a full dosage of a strong antibiotic. If a 10 day dosage is not followed, they usually come back, then immune to the antibiotic.

I couldn't just sit around and do nothing like my doctors suggested.

They didn't want me to do anything or to take herbs or herbal remedies, but I had to try something - they just wanted me to do dialysis!

This program allowed me to take control of my health. I went from Stage 4 to Stage 3 kidney disease.

It was easy to do and my BUN, creatinine and anemia are all in better ranges.

Yes it is common, it is also an indication of renal distress, if you have not been treated, then get treated.
