Why are Christians the only people in the entire world that should not have freedom of speech or freedom of religion?
People are constantly trying to have others accept their position. In religion, politics, marriage, friendships, even where to to for lunch and what movie to see.
Most religions including Christianity believe that they have a mission to bring others to the faith. Millions have responded to this call and have converted.
Christians additionally have a command literally from the mouth of God the Son, Jesus Christ:
Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. (Matthew 28:19-20)
I agree that no one should be coerced into conversion. In the Vatican II document, Declaration on Religious Freedom, Dignitatis Humanae (Human Dignity), the Catholic Church states:
The human person has a right to religious freedom. This freedom means that all men are to be immune from coercion on the part of individuals or of social groups and of any human power, in such wise that no one is to be forced to act in a manner contrary to his own beliefs, whether privately or publicly, whether alone or in association with others, within due limits.
With love in Christ.
