I heard that you shouldn't because the hair might not take the dye the same way that it does with the hair on your head. My friend tells me that I should because it will look better. What's the truth?

I would think that red eyebrows would look a bit strange. Of course it depends on the hue of red, but if there is a large discrepancy between your hair and eyebrow color, get an eyebrow pencil and go over them. I usually use a shade a little darker than the hair color I currently have- and I change my hair a lot!!
I would not try to actually 'dye' my eyebrows with the same dye as you use on your head because it's full of pretty harsh chemicals I wouldn't want next to my eyes- and it will stain the skin underneath.
I say you are better off using a pencil to even things out.

I would not recommend it, first off it is very dangerous to apply hair color so close to your eyes, and technically it is illegal for hairstylists to use hair color to dye your brows, there is special tint that is made just for lashes and brows, but you have to be a professional to get it, let alone use it. your best bet is to get red'ish brow pencil and use that to fill in and give your brows a red'ish tone, or go to a salon and have it done professionally.
Hope that helps!

No, no no!!! I don't know about it staying, but I do know that it has chemicals in it, such as ammonia and peroxide. This could greatly harm you eyesight if you get it in your eyes, and it would be very very painful! No offense, but your friend is WRONGO!!!!!
