Time to back up your data and reinstall windows. It's a good way of clearing out the clutter.

It is not freezing, it is doing addressing and starting up all the different programs that you have in your start up folder.

Too, you probably need to do system maintenance on your hard drive. Delete temp internet files, data that you nolonger want and defrag your c: drive

Is the hard drive indicator burning a steady green during this time instead of flickering? If it is, your laptop is running at 100% capacity during the boot up, and is taking that length of time to get ready.

Good day. Check yur bios options. Something in there may be enabled so during power on, may be looking for something and after 3 minutes, doesnt find it and continues to boot. Check yur bios options.

You may have something like an anti virus check on boot up enabled, this will slow down the boot sequence considerably

Check your network settings. Your laptop might be looking for a network that's not there. Try disabling any network interfaces that you're not using.

try deleting any files or software you are not using then ur laptop has less to cope with!! i had same prob recently with my pc and this worked! GOOD LUCK, i hate snail pace technology!!

it's loading software and runing operations.
if this is recent then use restore in windows to see if this corrects it
