well, you are taking the lamictal for bi-polar i suppose. this might need to be increased on your treatment with pegintron. they might also have to add an antianxiety medication as well.

pegintron can put you in an aggrivated and depressed state. it is a side effect.

the good news is that if you make it through treatment, you might find that your diagnoses of being bipolar might subside!

you didn't state what the treatment is for, but if it is for hepatitis b or c and you respond, you might not ever need your lamictal again....viruses do pass the blood brain barrier, along with toxins the liver is not able to filter. could be why you've were diagnosed as beging bi-polar.

i was depressed from the age of 12/13 until treatment with interferon and ribavirin. the only reason why i was approved is because a good doctor understand the relationship between viral infections and the mind. without the virus there more than likely would be no depression.

as far as i am a ware of, the medications you are taking should be okay, but something else might need to be added or your lamictal might need the increase as you get further along in your treatment. if you notice your symptoms of bi-polar increasing it is just a side effect of the pegintron. ask your doctor and see what he thinks.
