Instead of doing the egg race (egg in a spoon and having to walk with it) put a large strawberry instead. pinks are good for decor, and very girly with bows and ribbon. Maybe even set up a big table or a couple small ones and have a tea party. serve dainty cookies and tea sandwiches (kiddy version, I don't think I know to many kids that would eat cucumber sandwiches)
Have everyone dress in dresses and dress shoes like little ladies. And maybe even buy them little white gloves to wear.
www.orientaltrading.com here is what I found. Go to the website and type either white gloves, child white gloves, or the item number.
CHILD SIZE WHITE GLOVES
Item Number: IN-5/1033
$1.95 per Pair
get little plastic tea pots and cups and dishes and have little trays of food at the table so they can pick for themselves and serve ice tea or kool aid in the tea pots instead of hot tea.

Everyone has great ideas. When I was 5 I had a Strawberry Shortcake Birthday and my mom made the pinata by doing Papier-mâché around a huge balloon and used that has Strawberry Shortcake's face. She painted on a face and put on a red mop wig and a big hat the she had made to look just like Strawberry Shortcake's. Everyone loved it. I still think about that. Another game you can play is tossing strawberries (really small ones or some cut up) in the air and trying to catch them in their mouths. It's super funny and yummy. Whoever catches the most wins. I had an ice cream cake with Strawberry Shortcake on it wishing me a happy birthday.

Hmmm, for food, or dessert rather I would buy those little shortcakes, make a strawberry compote, buy a canister of whipping cream and have the girls make their own "strawberry shortcakes".
I would make the decor Red & Pink everywhere, streamers and all. Maybe even some balloon bouquets.
If you are able to find artificial strawberries you could do a "mock" egg hunt with them. Hide them all over, inside or outside, and give the girls a little basket to collect them. Whoever has the most wins a prize.
Another game-craft idea would be to make paper-mache strawberries for them to paint/decorate. Using an inflated balloon, cover it with the papermache and allow to dry (obviously before the party, lol). Give them to the girls to paint like strawberries etc, the they have a gift to take home.

1.) You could get a strawberry shortcake doll, or a fake strawberry. Place 12 chairs in a straight row, have each child sit in a chair, play the music and have everyone pass the doll or strawberry, when the music stops whoever is holding (the doll or strawberry) gets up and one chair is removed...continue this until only one child is left..that child recieves a prize.
2.) Everyone gets a bowl of strawberries covered in cool whip. Hands behine thier back whoever can get the strawberries out the quickest using only thier mouth wins.
3.) Using pictures of cut-out strawberries..let everyone paint thier own strawberry..(washable paints)..."my five year old loves to paint.
Decorate with red, white and pink balloons (you could paint or use markers to add strawberries to the balloons).
A table cloth with strawberry shortcake or just strawberries.
Have Fun...and Good Luck.

My daughter had a Strawberry Shortcake Birthday last year and we had a "Strawberry Toss" This is best done outside if possible because it can get kind of messy. But you take a basket and place it away from the kids and give each one a specific number of strawberries to toss into the basket. Whoever gets all their strawberries in the basket gets a small trinket! Mine wound up playing it over and over and they didn't even care about the prize!

For food, get a box of strawberry cake mix and make cupcakes out of it. Put a light pink frosting on top. They also make little candies that are Strawberry Shortcake themed (on the aisle with the cake mix and frosting) and those would be cute on top as well. For drinks, a pink punch would be cute.
For decor, light pink or white crate paper all around. If you go to a party supply store there are usually aisles with everything you need. I'm sure they'd have Strawberry Shortcake. They usually have table cloths, plates, cups, napkins, goodie bags, ect.

for the cake make cupcakes and instead of icing use that strawberry cool-whip it's delicious!
What about getting red poster board and cutting it in the shape of a strawberry then getting black dots and you put the dots on the strawberries.

Decorating cupcakes at the party would be fun for the girls plus then they can eat them too! Then you have food and an activity all in one.
