I notice lot of persons want to do everything by themselves to there car( like we do to our wife's in India), this do it your self habit is not for everything.
You may be Jack of all and master of nothing.
This job involves electrical wiring knowledge and any mistake there will be fire inside the hood.( if fuse does not work )
Pl take it to a Auto electrician and fix it.
