Yes, that is exactly what you should do. Buy an over-the-counter perm kit but instead of rollers, continually comb the hair for the same amount of time it would normally be in rollers & then apply the neutralizer. Your arm may get tired but this would be the cheapest solution.

Hi! I'm so sorry about your perm! To be honest, I was so miserable with my perm too (the girl that did it made me think I was going to get curls like Jennifer Aniston-instead when she was done I looked like Shakira!!!) Needless to say I was flamed, hated the smell, and could not get use to styling the curls. Plus, I paid good money for the dummy to skrew up my hair.
Okay, sorry I had to vent...your best bet is to either let it grow out as much as you can stand and then chop off the perm! That's what I had to do. The biggest mistake of my life was getting a perm- my hair is not only dry and damaged, and growing back very slowly b/c I had to cut off the damn perm!
Please don't spend anymore money on your perm, because I have tried EVERYTHING and they just damage your hair even more. If you do want to spend some cash, try cutting your hair(it will take atleast 2-3 real cuts) and get the temporary hair exetensions that Jessica Simpson wears! It's called "Hair DO" and you can take it out at night. It runs from $99(synthetic hair)-
$500(real hair).
Hope this helps:) Just know that we're in the same boat and I totally understand what it's like.

I have naturally curly hair and I used to straightent it every day with a curling iron. It worked better than a straightening iron because it grabbed the hair and pulled it straight instead of just flattening the curl in the iron. You can go to walmart and get a straightenter too, but I wouldn't reccommend this. Any time you put a chemical on your hair you are burning it, the same as with any sort of iron. You can also blow dry it straight but this takes time and effort and also burns your hair.
I would go back to my stylist and see what she says. It may be best for you to just grow your perm out and have it cut off little by little.
Hope everything works out. =)

If you have no experience on hair straightening, I for one would not recommend it. If you want it done right pay for the service at a salon. If you don't want to pay a salon then GOOD LUCK. You could end up losing that little natural curl??? (you said permed didn't you?) because you won't have any hair at all!
Be very careful if you try this yourself. Most salons won't touch your head if you burn your hair and go looking for help.

I'm a stylist of 18 yrs. and although I don't recommend over the counter products....some beauty supply stores carry decent things..Sally's for example carries Zotos perms and have been around for a long time and are safe. As long as your hair isn't color treated...you will have minimal drying by doing the following:
Purchase a perm for body--a gentle one--and 1st, shampoo your hair and rise and towel dry...comb out and apply the perms solution all over...comb through your hair for the timing listed in the perm directions...usually 10-20 minutes..keep combing with a WIDE toothed come keeping the hair flat. Then rinse for 5 minutes, towel dry, apply the neutralizer and comb through for 5 minutes and rinse WELL...and condition. that's it.

go to walmart and get another perm kit apply it to you hair without the rollers(obviously) and use a large tooth comb to brush it strait continue to brush until time is up and them move on to the second step. (I am a cosmetologist and although i do not recommend to perms closer than 6 mo of each other it will defiantly work!) Be sure to get a leave on conditioning treatment and use 3 days after straitening to make sure your hair stays healthy.

Go buy a straightening iron. it makes your hair straight and doesn't damage it like chemicals would. You would have to straighten it every time you wash your hair though. There is a hair straightening solution you can buy at the store, but depending on how curly your hair is, you have to buy more than one because you have to do it several times before your hair is real straight, it also makes your hair dry and ugly. So, your best bet i think would be the straightening iron.

Yes you can..comb your hair instead of rolling it and follow the directions....it worked for me...but you will have to redo it after a couple of weeks just like you would if you got a perm.

My best friend was my clothes iron. I have naturally wavy hair and I iron my hair, it will make your hair look naturally straight. but make sure if you start doing this on a regular basis that you use hair treatments at least once a week!
