Proverbs 15:13-14(Amp):
13 A glad heart makes a cheerful countenance, but by sorrow of heart the spirit is broken.
14 The mind of him who has understanding, seeks knowledge, inquires after and craves it, but the mouths of (self-confident) fools feed on folly.
Isaiah 53:4-6:
4 Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.
5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.
6 All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.
Isaiah 51:11:
11 Therefore the redeemed of the LORD shall return, and come with singing unto Zion; and everlasting joy shall be upon their head: they shall obtain gladness and joy; and sorrow and mourning shall flee away.
"For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind'' (2Timothy 1:7).
Always remember they hated Jesus before they hated you, the persecuted Him before you, they rejected him before you, because we are they way we are we have to endure suffering like Christ "weeping may endure for a time, but joy will come in the morning"
Keep ya head up :)

I simply ignore it. I neither want nor need anyone elses approval to believe what I believe. My faith is my own and I will not be swayed by negative people. Everyone is persecuted and rejected at some point in their life for something, usually trivial. Part of Growing up, physically, mentally , and spiritually is learning your own worth and the worth of your opinions to you and recognizing that opinions are like rear ends, everybody has one. Some just smell worse than others. Still if you let someone else's opinion of you diminish your faith or your self esteem then you have let them win a fight that should never even have needed to be fought.

Doesn't that go against the book of Job? But other than that, the statement means that if something horrible happens to you it's not God testing you, if God tests you you won't feel more pain than you can handle and He will try to put a way for you to escape pain, that goes more than just normal faithfulness and means that when you're going through trouble you need to try to find every possible means of getting free of suffering and it won't always be clear as glass.

James 1:2
2 My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials,
3 knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience.
4 But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing.
5 If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.
Mt 5:11
"Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for My sake.
Lu 21:12
But before all these things, they will lay their hands on you and persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues and prisons. You will be brought before kings and rulers for My name's sake.
Ro 12:14
Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse.

By looking at my purpose and seeking explanation from within my heart as to why these experiences were necessary for me. What tendencies I might have been having that may have mirrored my pain, and how have I moved forward through the pain. Eventually, I may even realize that I may be the chosen one, for God cares to give me lessons in order that I can better myself, he would not bother to give to some others, and on a brighter day I would be grateful for that.
Read "Rational Spirituality" on the Dhaxem website. It is a fast growing knowledge about God and the Universe shared by the thinking people. You may find in it many of your answers, or it may show you the way to search for them within your own heart. Each one of us is unique and there just are not ready made pieces of advice that others can give you that would be as accurate as the answers you may find within yourself. But believe that whatever you experience has a positive purpose.

I learned to live with it and accept it. Have been persecuted by the christians for years, and rejected from social events and groups because I was not part of the christian clique. Too bad they don't really practice their religion.

I don't give it much thought. My focus is on the things of God. The bible tells us to keep our eyes on the prize, our high calling in Jesus Christ. If you turn your eyes off of the Lord to deal with suffering or persecution or rejection, then you are in a place that will spiral down into self pity. And I don't mean this unkindly. What I mean to say is this: Jesus said, if you serve Him, you will be persecuted for it. Don't let it bother you; remember that we don't war against flesh and blood, but spiritiual wickedness in high places. Keep your eyes on Jesus Christ, take all things to Him, allow Him to heal your hurts, don't return evil for evil, pray for those who curse you. And don't be weary in well doing; remember that God gives you strength and grace to do what He would have you do in this world.

Surround yourself with as much "positive stuff" as you can. Try to hang out with like-minded people, who support you and who look at things positively. Get involved in where you live by volunteering.
And I try to look at the people doing the persecuting and rejecting as people who are behaving negatively because of the bad things in THEIR lives. I try to empathize with them as much as possible and not take it personally.

Easy to say that you will not shrink back and stand firm, but it's hard to do this when it actually happens. One time this girl cursed me out for inviting her boyfriend to church. Not nice. So, needless to say, I think twice about inviting guys out to church. That's not good though because it says if you're ashamed of Christ then he will be ashamed of you. Also if you're persecuted you are blessed because the prophets were insulted in the same way.
