Mexico angered by lack of immigration reform, decision to increase security at border
By Associated Press
Friday, October 6, 2006 - Updated: 07:52 AM EST
Mexico lobbied for six years for a comprehensive immigration reform that would allow millions to cross into the United States legally. Instead, they’re getting a fence.
Mexicans - from leading politicians to migrants preparing to cross illegally - consider the U.S. plan to fence off much of the border shameful, offensive and ill-conceived.
President Bush on Wednesday signed a bill that would allot $1.2 billion for hundreds of miles of fencing, ( Cont.)

I think that if the government in Mexico would actually do their job and take care of the country and their people then the citizens of Mexico wouldn't be coming here and there wouldn't be any problems in the first place.

One thing that can be said without failing: It's gonna be a hell of a long and expensive fence!!!! Why not hire illegals to cut down labor expenses? Oh! What about illegal Cuban immigration? Maybe Mr. G.W. Bush can sign a bill for building a fence around the Florida State coastline. How much would that cost? The post following mine by Jane d is a good one. You can't only blame illegal Mexican aliens, take a look inside, lot's of Americans are making profit from cheap "imported" workers. What has Congress and Mr. President have to say about that?

The way I see it the fence is a waste of time and money. Go after the ones that bring the illegals here in the first place. Go after the businesses that hire them. Make them pay and pay good. Hit them square in the wallets and they will think twice about paying wages to illegal immigrants. If we stop the reasons they come here we will put a huge dent in the population of illegals coming here.

I think a fence should be built, for the good of everyone. But to say that Mexicans need to take care of their own country while being true is close to impossible seeing as how the money belongs to the government and if the people were seeing any of it or if the government was using it for his country, do you seriously think we would have such a problem with illegal immigration?! What I find amusing is that all of you screaming that they should take care of their own country instead of messing up ours have never been down there and seen for yourselves. People arent calling it a third word country for kicks!! I dont myself think we should just let them in, build your fence, then legalize the ones here trying to assimilate and make a living, even charge them back taxes for the years they didnt pay any and deport the ones in our jails and gangs!! But dont assume that if you havent been there and seen first hand what is going on down there that you have any idea how these people live or that you have the right to judge the decisions they make for the well being of their families!! ok, didnt mean to preach, just got excited there for a bit!!

_______________September______...
Today is the first day of September. That means fall is rapidly approaching. I love fall but I despise what comes after it. Winter, the season of death. How I hate it. All living things seem to die. Everything halts. Life comes to a standstill for a time. I can never seem to get warm enough.
I am also a recently published poetry author.
. I play two musical instruments the harmonica and the banjo. I write poetry and short stories, as well as diatribes.

shameful, offensive and ill-conceived.
The plan is all of the above....but I also think that the Mexican Politicians should clean up around there door steps before cleaning ours.....I think they should have no say so in regards to what we build or the laws that we put on our books.

What do I think about this article?
I think the fence is not long enough nor tall enough.
I think Mexico should mind it's own damn business.
I think the illegal aliens should start heading south to work on one last job on their way out...the erection of this fence...naw...just high-tail it out of here, we Americans can build our own fences!
And if the fence will just make people want to come here even more and take different routes, I say those people with such determination should have NO TROUBLE fixing their own damn countries!

We here in the UK have several miles of sea around us as a barrier/fence,
We still get thousands and thousands of illegals every year.
Good Luck
