Perhaps they don't know the difference between opinion, belief, fact, theory and hypothesis.
Many humans grow up with a religious influence where belief or opinion plays a strong role. Many of these people carry over "belief" type thinking into other areas of life.
Educated people tend to have more experience with rational thinking where experimentation guidelines, logic, gold standard, questioning, proofs and facts rule.
I could guess that women tend to be more opinionated than men, but that would be an opinion and not a proven fact. Women do tend to be less interested in science. But, then when I look at the jail population which contains people with pretty poor thinking skills, I have to wonder about men who occupy the vast majority of cells.

By virtue of their lack of education they are often very narrow minded. They accept what they've been told either by the media or by their church, and try to force their opinions on others. They are convinced that their world's eye view is the only right one. Of course the same holds true for men. Education can be broadening, however, I've known some highly educated ( MD; PhD), close minded, arrogant, bigoted fools. Contempt prior to investigation is a problem which prohibits getting to the truth of any matter.

Define educated?
You mean a lab rat that sat for 12 + years and memorized everything someone else taught them to say and feel or think, less the actual experience in anything other than spring break or an altruistic guilt ridden attempt at some charity soup kitchen work for sociology class credits?
or just an average someone that read and experienced life as they went along and basically found life on their own, and on their own terms less the piece of paper that states how they are officially an expert on everything under the sun?
I hate the kinds of people who believe they are intellectually superior to everyone else just because Daddy or the Government paid for them to sit at a desk and memorize random facts and historical occurrences...
Opinionated... nothing wrong with it as long as what you are saying makes sense and it is poignant and relative to something or someone other than you and yours!
I basically have a G.E.D. and some College...
I am self taught and speak almost 6 languages, I can talk shop in; Art, history, sociology, psychology and medical, I have a brain like a steel trap and have probably forgotten more than you'll ever know. I play a few different instruments, I have beauty and culture in my life always and my children are both far above average intelligence.
I am a mother, I worked since I was 16 years old and have held more creditable, diverse positions in more fields than your education will ever afford you. AND I have dyslexia and severe ADD which basically hindered me from being able to learn in a controlled "Normal" atmosphere.
And to counteract the rest of the "Educated" boneheads that participated... I believe in one God. I am however more intelligent than to ever conform to one religion. I do not see the need in society to force a single opinion or an ideal on everyone in order for them to understand and respect one another. I believe in Both God and tolerance from the place of love and Grace that Christ taught. I respect atheists, love and respect the Jews and the non violent muslems, and even devil worshippers, satanists, naturists, wiccans and even a Catholic or two if they first respect me.
For all of you to even bring religion into this on the basis of education, is rediculous. You are proving a counter point against yourselves! It seems like the EDUCATED are the opinionated, to the detriment of anyone not exactly as they are, or anyone that failed to take the exact same steps they did to get them there.
How about you?
Don't generalize! It is both ignorant and shortsided... Even for an "educated" woman such as yourself. ESPECIALLY for an educated woman.

I think a lack of education can go hand in hand w/ a lack of culture/ sofistication (more or less), therefor an uneducated person (male or female) doesn't understand that speaking loudly and out of turn - whether knowledgable or not- isn't acceptable

Why do people feel the need to make general statements about certain types of other people?
By the way, you should replace "How come" with "Why is it that"! Then YOU might sound intelligent!
To answer your question: You don't need anything but assumptions to form opinions. You need knowledge to know which of your opinions are right and which are wrong.

Whilst I am opinionated I am educated and can back up what I say. For other women it isn't a matter of being too uneducated to state a opinion... But they aren't educated enough to keep there mouths shut.

I think it goes for men too. inferiority complex for those that think being less educated is an issue. It depends on your up bringing. This would apply in communities where business/trade is the focus for success.

Well it is what we call street knowledge. Some women seem to be more opinionated because they have been through something. You don't have to be educated to express your self this is a free country.

I think its definitely not just woman, and its an combination of different factors, but you are right that the less brain you use, the more you think you know it all, and less willingly to learn, as our sages say, "a smart person is the one who learns from everybody"
