If you are a female, be aware that you will get a lot of attention from the local men ! My wife and her sister went to Marmaris and the waiters wouldn't leave then alone ! It spoilt their holiday.

Don't go there is my tip, go to Fethiye instead, its about the same from Dalaman but the other way. The people are far nicer & its a lot cheaper. As for the comments from edmundupton hes talking utter crap. The Terrorists here have announced an official ceasfire, you will be safer here than the uk. I have lived & worked all over the world & you will not find a safer country ot friendlier people than the Turks

It's got a great beach, the weather should still be pretty nice this time of year. It has a lovely bazaar that you should go round, but be careful, as the Turkish sellers can be very forceful. Don't be offended though, this is just their culture.

Try the turkish delight there, it is amazing.... and get a Dolmus (that is a little bus) to Icelmar, which is nearby, it is quieter, and pretty.

Nearby excursions you should go on... cruise down the Dalyan River to Turtle Beach, that is amazing, completely out of this world. Also, Pammukale is just wierd beyond belief, and get a turkish massage as well, they are wonderful!

Watch out for the huge lizards though! Have fun!

Went to Ova Chick last year, hated it it was expensive. I had bought two bottles of Bacardi at the airport, when I arrived at our place that was supposed to be a hotel, my neice was in the next hotel. The owners of her hotel drank my Bacardi and charged my husband for their coke. I was not amused but I kept quiet because I did'nt want to cause trouble. I would never go to the place ever again.

my uncle went there on a free flight package, the hotel charged for everything, even use of water, cost him a fortune, marmaris and turkey has become one big rip off, and a travel agent friend said that

You must be mad !!! Don't you watch the news or read the papers ?
It is a hotbed of Muslim fundementalism The ones who want to KILL tourists. Of course the Turkish authorities will tell you differnt because they want your money before you are murdered.
No sympathy for those who ignore the warnings and then bleat about it. Try Greece similar climate no crazed Jihaders.
