Salsa is always good- Tortillas make up the 'finger' part ;)
Salsa:
Plum tomatoes (or whatever is cheap and good. When the season allows, I even make this with cherry tomatoes. If you use big & beefy tomatoes you might want to squeeze out some of the juice and seeds). Chopped .
Sweet Onion, chopped fine
Granulated garlic (you can use fresh, I prefer dried because the salsa seems to stay 'good' for longer without fresh garlic in it).
Red bell pepper, chopped fine.
Sea Salt
Cilantro (use an entire bunch or use 1/2 a bunch cilantro & 1/2 a bunch parsley)
extra credit ingredients: hot pepper, a squeeze of lemon or lime, chopped cukes.
directions: mix- season-eat- enjoy
Buffalo Chicken dip is good, too
2 C shredded cooked chicken
1/2 box low fat cream cheese
1/2 C sour cream (low fat is fine)
1/4 C mayo
crumbled blue cheese to taste (1/4C-1/2 C)
1/4-1/2 cup of buffalo chicken sauce
How to make it:
mix it together and bake for 15-25 minutes at 350 degrees.
Fiddle with the amounts- skip the blue cheese if you do not like it. Serve with crackers & carrots & celery sticks.
The Knorr spinach water chesnut dip in a bread bowl always goes over well, too (recipe is on the knorr soup box)...

I would make an antipasto platter that way you get a little bit of everything. You'll need a nice big platter for this! I usually roll some salami, capacola and provolone. I like to get some of those little bite size balls of mozzarella(boconccini) and marinate them in a little olive oil and red pepper flakes. I also marinate some fresh mushrooms and chickpeas for the platter. I like to use Good Seasons Zesty Italian salad dressing to marinate my chickpeas and mushrooms. Giardiniera is also a good addition, Giardiniera is Italian pickled mixed vegetables and you can find them in most grocery stores by the pickles. I put some spicy black olives on there too. I haven't ever had any leftovers! All of the little nibbles for your platter can be put into separate ziplocks and then you can assemble your platter when you get there it is much easier to travel with.
Spicy Black Olives
1 can Ripe whole olives, drained
1/4 cup olive oil
1 tablespoon chopped fresh thyme or 1 teaspoon dried
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1/2 teaspoon hot red pepper sauce
1/4 teaspoon salt
In a jar with a tight fitting lid, combine all ingredients. Cover; shake to coat. Refrigerate at least 2 hours or up to 1 month before serving. Serve at room temperature with wooden picks as an appetizer or serve over lettuce leaves and sliced tomatoes as a salad. Makes 1 dozen appetizers, about 1-3/4 cups olives.

You can do little mini cheesecakes. Get some of the silver foil cupcake liners, put a vanilla wafer in the bottom and spoon the cheesecake mix into them until they are about 2/3 full. You'll probably knock 5 - 10 minutes off the baking time by having them in cupcake liners. Open a can of cherry pie filling and put 3 cherries with sauce on the top of each one. These are awesome and everyone will love them - I promise! (plus, being close to valentine's day it will carry well). Another idea is miniature cream puffs. Your regular cookbook probably has a recipe for these delicate pastries. Fill them with the cook & serve chocolate pudding and dust confectioners sugar on top just before serving. These are my two best finger food desserts that I can whip up easy and always get a ton of compliments on. Good luck!

great finger foods for teenagers are lil piggys in a blanket, you can never go wrong with those, get the lil beenie weenies and wrap them in a cresent roll. and when i get together with the girls, i like the lil chicken salad sandwitches, i make the chicken salad from scratch, the canned chicken has a very bland flavor so boli and pluck a whole chicken, much better flavor. and wrap and instead of bread wrap it up in a cresent roll and bake them in the oven normal cresent roll time. so good the ladies will love it. don't froget you can always decorate like lil flags or stick in lil girly decor. a great dessert finger food i had once at a gals night out was those lil bite size brownies, i beleive they are by hostess snacks, brownie bites, take a brownie top in with a dab of whipped cream and drizzle with chocolate syrup, OMG they were so good, and as ladies didn't feel guilty getting another one cuz they were so small lol.

My friend makes these great (and super easy) pinwheel sandwich-like things. Mix chopped black olives with cream cheese, spread the mixture onto a large flour tortilla, top with salami slices(you can leave the salami off for a vegetarian option, if you prefer), roll the tortilla (carefully so the cream cheese doesn't ooze out) and slice the roll into even sized pieces. Easy and finger friendly. MMMM.... enjoy.

I don't have any specific recipes to offer. I usually stick to something simple , which is usually a vegetable platter with dip or a fresh fruit tray. I really enjoy making them and making them "pretty and festive", but the fact that everything gets eaten is even better. I guess it is not too creative, but it accompanies
other dishes well. More of a safe bet.

Sounds fun! Here are a few of my favorites...also check out the appetizer section @ www.allrecipes.com
HAVE FUN! There is also the old standby deviled eggs or taco salad:) Take a holloween theme? Check out www.kraftfoods.com for that:)
ITALIAN CHEESEBALLS
1 pound ricotta cheese
1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 teaspoons grated lemon zest
2 eggs, beaten
4 egg whites
3/4 cup white sugar
DIRECTIONS
Preheat the oven to 300 degrees F (150 degrees C).
In a medium bowl, mix together the ricotta cheese, cream cheese, flour, salt, vanilla, lemon zest and eggs. In a separate bowl, whisk together the egg whites and sugar. Pour into the cheese mixture, and mix until well blended. Roll into balls about the size of a golf ball, and place in a glass baking dish.
Bake for 45 minutes in the preheated oven, or until golden brown on top.
Takke the dipping sauces of your choice. Mustard, hot and sweet/sours are good:)
Gnudi Recipe
1 cup whole milk ricotta cheese
1 pound frozen spinach, thawed and squeezed dry
1 cup grated Parmesan
2 eggs
2 egg yolks
1/4 teaspoon freshly grated nutmeg
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
5 tablespoons all-purpose flour, plus 1 cup for coating
1 jar store bought marinara sauce, heated
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.
In a large bowl, mix ricotta, spinach, Parmesan cheese, eggs, and yolks. Stir in nutmeg, salt, pepper, and flour. Form mixture in to small bite sized, flattened balls.
Dredge the formed gnudi in flour to coat, tapping off the excess. Slide formed gnudi into the boiling water. Be careful not to overcrowd the pan; work in batches if necessary. Remove the gnudi using a slotted spoon after they float to the top and have cooked for about 4 minutes.
