My personal favorite are Dansko clogs. You should be able to find them with a quick internet search. They are kinda pricy, but if your program means you'll be in clinical 2 years or more, they are definitely worth it. They'll last, too. I had a white pair that lasted me through 2 years of clinical and then when I finished, I got a new pair that has lasted me 3+ years. Whatever you do, don't skimp on comfort because of price. You will be standing for a long, long time and walking more than you imagined, so be comfortable! Your legs and back will thank you!

Just make sure they have good support and are comfortable. Nurses spend a lot of time on their feet all through their career. By starting out now with good shoes, you will save yourself from having a lot of foot trouble in the years to come. Always buy work shoes with good support!

And good luck with your nursing! It is a very rewarding career!

I always wore all-white running/cross training type shoes. Off course I am a guy so it might be different for us. Check on the web under nurses or nursing shoes?

You can find good nursing shoes everywhere. Try Lambert's. Anyway, they come in many styles, such as clogs, backless or with a strap. They are extremely comfortable, but somewhat costly. The last pair I bought were $67.00. You can find them at any medical uniform shop, such as Lambert's. You may even find them at Sear's or Penny's.

You can find them in scrub catalogs. Just do an online search for scrub catalogs (Jasco is one). Don't spend too much $ on them, because you won't want to wear them once you're out of nursing school. Most nurses wear sneakers or clogs.
