Hello my son stays with me on the weekends and he still wears diapers. I would like to find them plastic diaper covers to use for him over his diaper just for extra protection. I know my parents used these on me when I was a baby but I have looked everywhere for these and it seems like no stores sell these. I tried Walmart but they only have up to a size 3T and I also tried Big Lots but all I could find was the small size there. I am looking for the "Toddler" size ones for him because they would provide a better fit. So does anyone know what stores sell the "Toddler" size ones? and does anyone know why these arent that popular as they were back in the day?

Kids will potty train when they are ready. I have 5 kids and I never used extra protection with a diaper. Who cares if he makes a mess because his diaper leaked or he get the runs and it goes out of the diaper. After he is potty trained he will no doubt still have an accident once and awhile. Relax and just enjoy him.

alot of ppl dont use them bc they are lazy and like the convience of throw away diapers. try babies r us or look at kmart if you still have one and target. most place should sell them if you dont find the size you are looking for ask someone if they are just out of stock and if so when will they be in. Also if you son is a toddler this would be a good time to not force but to encourage the use of the toliet and dont be afraid to show him how to do it. Thats what parents are for.

I don't think they sell these anymore. You can by the plastic pants, but they have a cotton lining throughout. They are primarily used for potty training.

Back in the day most of us wore cloth diapers, which is why these were popular. Now with disposables, there is not the need that there once was.

If your son is bigger than a 3T perhaps work with him on potty training!

Well, I honestly don't know, because our son is grown and that stage is over.....Whew! But I remember when it was time to potty train, his father built a couple of steps with hand rails so he wouldn't fall, and within a week or so, our son was doing this on his own. He loved it! His Dad would take him to use the toilet just before bed, then wake him in the middle of the night, then first thing in the morning. It was really neat, one night we heard a sound, and when we went to investigate, our son was in the bathroom all by himself! But untill you decide it's time to potty train, you might try putting a plastic sheet on the bed...it saves on mattresses. Good luck on the plastic pants.

they're not as popular as back then because diapers are more absorbent than they used to be. Not sure on to tell you where to find them that big but you could try using pull ups over the diaper if necessary for extra coverage, especially when he/she is asleep.

I bought my daughter Gerber brand ones at Babies R Us. You should try there.

Check by the cloth diaper section as thats where they're most likely to be stocked.

Good Luck!
