I have a Congo African Grey, Ziggy, who's 4 years old. She has such a huge vocabulary I could not begin to keep track of it - at least over 150 words and phrases.

The kicker is that she uses them appropriately. Here are some prime examples:

When her food bowl is empty - or we have food she wants - she says "Wanna eat?" That's if she's being polite. If we ignore her pleas, she starts in with "C'mere! Hey, c'mon. Wanna eat! C'mere! Want some? Is it good? C'mere! Here ya go, want some?" etc. etc.

When she's being rude in asking for food (such as "here ya go"), she knows it, so she asks herself "Whaddya say, huh? Whaddya say? WANNA EAT."

When it's time for bed, she tells us. "C'mon, time to go night night." If we don't go to bed fast enough for Her Nibs, she nags us. "C'mon, night night. Time to go night night. It's time for night night."

If her water gets funky - she loves to dunk her pellets in it - she tells us it needs changing. "Wanna drink? C'mon, wanna drink." She has started telling us when the other birds' water bowls are funky or low too.

She says "Gotta go bye bye. Buh-bye!" when we walk out the door.

She says "Hello Chester, Hello Sunny!" when we come home. (Sunny and Chester are two of our other birds, and for some reason she thinks that's our names. I'm Sunny and hubby is Chester.)

When she doesn't want to go back in her cage, she tells us "No!" and when she wants to come out, she says "Wanna come out? I love you... wanna come out? C'mere! Whatcha doin? Wanna come OUT!"

When we get up in the morning to make coffee, she says "wake up! Want some coffee?"

That's just the regular, everyday sort of stuff she says. She spends most of her talking time making a running commentary of what's on TV or what's happening around her. It's an endless succession of grunts and comments like "WOW," "HUH?" "Mmm-hmm," "Yep", and lately, the "Dee-Dee-Dee" that Carlos Mencia does on his show.

She says "Gimme a dollar!", "Oh hell," "What!?" and tons of other things in response to her environment.

It'd be impossible to catalogue everything - she says new things nearly every day.

Mine will do a cat call whenever I walk by. She's just starting to talk, still a youngin. Says Uh oh, come here, she'll sneeze like me(I have allergies). Calls the dogs by name, calls my kids by name-the same way I do lol. Then after one of the kid's name, she says something can't figure it out yet, probably me bitching at one of them lol. My old house, there's was a lot of roosters in the neighborhood/next door, I was so afraid she'd learn that and I'd have to listen to it forever lol...........

My neighbor was telling me starling's could be taught to talk. That's neat and good for you!!!

My male tiel used to be a biter and a screamer until I taught him how to say phrases like, "Pet my head", "Go outside?", and "Eat a treat?". Now he can communicate with me without frustration on both of our parts. I also taught him multiple musical notes so he makes up songs of his own - it's pretty funny... especially when the songs actually sound good.

My Friend's bird has one sided phone conversations.

Hello, oh hi, I'm fine how are you, etc...

Yells NO at the dogs all the time

Yells NO at himself when he's chewing on the table.

Sighs when she sits down with her coffee. She says she doesn't do that, but she must, since he mimicks her.
