The babysitter hits kids, or the kids at the babysitters house are aggressive? Either way I would think about finding another day care arrangement

Whatever you do DON'T ever hit her. That only reinforces the agressive behavior.
When she hits you, squeeze her hand hard, but not hard enough to break it. It will make her feel lesss like striking out at you.
Take her to a different licensed day care facility. The law requires that there are a certain number of adults to children (ratio) to avoid things like this. Sure it's expensive, but it's YOUR CHILD. Isn't she worth it?
NEVER NEVER NEVER hit a child unless you want them to learn to respond aggressively when they are displeased.

There is a difference in "hitting" and "hitting back". Me personally, I think it is ok to "hit back" to defend herself from other kids that are hitting her. But hitting back a parent is a BIG NO NO!!! You grabbed her by the wrists (gently), look her in the eyes, and say NO NO!! in a firm voice.
