I would say traffic school. If you think its ok to turn from the third lane maybe you need it. Also, it will take care of the points that you are going to get on your license from the ticket. That will help with how much your insurance is going to go up.

Find out how much the fine is...traffic school or a lawyer usually ends up being close to the amount of the fine, but it wont go on your record. all lawyers ask for a small fee, but some end up coming back later and asking for more.
just have to weigh you options. in TX you can take the school online...no missing work or taking up your weekend. the only time you have to take off is to take all the papers to the court house when you are done

You'll end up paying anyhow, might as well go to traffic school. If you lose (which you will) in traffic court, you will end up with a point on your record and have your insurance rates go up.

Traffic school wouldn't hurt from the sounds of your admitted lack of driving knowledge. Where would you find an attorney for $70????

Go to traffic school because you can hire an attorney and not get the conviction overturned. I would go to the school and get the ticket off my record, just make sure that you do not get another ticket anytime soon.

Pay the lawyer $70 for what? I don't understand. For a bribe to the court?

Just go to traffic school. At least you will have peace of mind knowing that you will be cleared for sure, and it cheaper. Better for you.

I would just pay the ticket. If you have to choose, I'd go to traffice school.

Going to traffic school may even get you a reduction in your insurance premiums, for far more savings.
