Assume you are asking about comparing a map and a globe with the same scale and amount of detail. In that case, the globe. It has only a very small amount of distortion as globes are manufactured as spheroids and the earth is just a tiny bit ellipsoidal (If they made a spherical globe of the atmosphere of Jupiter, it would be very distorted as Jupiter is very ellipsoidal).
Since the common recognition of the world being round, cartographers have had to come up with different ways of projecting the earth onto a flat surface. Most of these have preferred distortion at the north and south poles, since these have little population. Some distort shapes, some sizes and some distances. Some projections are cut like an irregularly peeled orange. The main problem is that a flat surface is not quite mathematically equivalent to a sphere -- true straight lines (great circle routes) on spheres always meet but on a flat surface you can have parallel lines.

A map gives you a detailed look of the area. The way countries change (names and boundaries), the way so many did a few years ago--------------a globe may not be up-to-date.

For what?
It all depends on the quality. Both can be accurate and useful.
I personaly, like the globe. It gives you a better idea of the real position of the countries and continents.

Continental drift. The continents are always moving, albeit very slowly, so any "accurate" map would be made inaccurate by this shift. There's also shifts in the volume of bodies of water affecting the size of the land masses.
