Snakes are not devil. Having the mentality of snake is devil.

Vedic Literatures tells us that there are also divine Snakes in higher planets like Ananta Sesha. Snakes have a very soft skin and in heavenly planets Ananta has offered his body as a sleeping bed for Lord. And Lord accepts what ever one offers with love even if he is a snake.

So considering all snakes as Devils is like considering all Humans as terrorists.
Snakes are criticized for have mentality of Jealousy and hatred. The famous saying goes like, if you feed Milk to Snake, the poison of the snake simply increases. But this example is given to warn us about the Humans who have this Snake mentality.
In Vedic Culture, it is said that God has given place to every creature to live and one must respect that, and not encroach upon.
In India, still in villages, snakes are respected for their service of keeping the population of rodents under Control. And the divine Snakes that render great service to God are worshipped.

NO..why would it be..if you like snakes and have no problem liking snakes it is not wrong to have a snake...don't let people tell you such lies..if they are thinking it it is wrong FOR THEM..not you. However if you are foolish enough to believe these lies then it becomes wrong for you too.
