You have to define 'denomination'. As independent corporate entities (often just a single church and congregation), there are too many to count.
If you narrow the definition to doctrinal groupings, and exclude groups such as Mormons, 7th Day Adventists, Jehovah's Witnesses and Christian Scientists, then you get into a reasonble number, perhaps a little over 100 worldwide.

In TRUE Christianity, there are no denominations or divisions. At 1 Cor. 1:10, Paul said that "there should not be divisions among you, but that you be fitly united in the same mind and in the same line of thought."
