Do you ever watch Christians celebrate Halloween, Christmas and Easter and laugh at them in their ignorance of the fact that the things they are doing have pagan origins? Do you wonder if they realize that what they are celebrating is a pagan ritual (sorry if that's not the right word)?

Do you feel like they have hijacked your holy days or do you accept it and see what they do as a promotion of what you believe?

No, I don't laugh at them. I don't laugh at the practices of any religion. All Hallows Eve and All Saints Day are quite different from the harvest holiday that I celebrate---Samhain. I hope that they find their holidays bring them peace and a closer connection to their deity just as mine do. I personally don't celebrate religious holidays close to their Christmas and Easter but regardless of their origins, those days have come to mean something very special to Christians. I respect that and encourage them to follow the path they feel is right for them.

I don't feel that current Christians hijacked my holy days nor do I feel that they promote what I believe in. I accept that a very long time ago Christian leaders chose the dates for some of their holidays to coincide with some pagan celebrations, but I certainly don't feel the need to blame current Christians for that decision. The past is the past.

No, because I find that to be disrespectful to them as human beings. Their religious holiday of Christmas may be worshiped on or near an ancient Pagan holy day, but that dose not make it any less valid than than the observance of the Pagan holy day. I converted from Christianity to Paganism, and it pains me to see Pagans acting as I once did as a Christian towards others simply because I believed differently than they did. My grandmother knows I am a Pagan and she is a devout Christian, so if I were to laugh at the days she considers holy it would hurt her feelings, and she is completely okay with me being a Pagan though she would have liked me to remain a Christian she did not hate me for my choice, nor did she stop caring for me because of my choice of faith. We have are arguments, but they usually pertain to my scholastic laziness (I do not study that much), but we do not argue over religion. As she put it she and I could read the Christian Bible a hundred times each, and every time we would interpret the Bible differently from one another, so how can she say what I believe is wrong when we interpret things differently to begin with.

I live by the philosophy of 'Live and let live', but I will defend my life if I have to; I just try to let people know if they want, need to, or have to know what I believe and why, but I will not try to change their faith.

If I have upset, or offended anyone I apologize immensely.

Peace Out and Blessed Be

Wicca is a quite new faith. It become created interior the 1950's. It become based, in part, on historic Pagan ideals. Paganism is a huge umbrella term for many faiths. actual any faith different than Judaism, Christianity, and Islam are seen Pagan. Hinduism, which may be seen Pagan, is reportedly the oldest faith. Paganism as i think of you advise it (mutually with Druidism and different such religions) is actual older than Christianity. Many Christian holiday trips, rituals, or maybe Saints are "borrowed" from the Pagan religions. Christmas case in point. comparable with Easter. Even the trinity. they are all "borrowed" from Pagan ideals. Saint Brigid become at one time a Goddess. She become lifted area and parcel from Pagan ideals and transplanted into Christian Sainthood. The Celts exceeded their religious ideals down by utilising understand mouth, they did not have a written historic past early on. yet that would not negate the reality that it predates Christianity by utilising quite a while. as a count of actuality, the Romans forcefully switched over the Pagan hundreds in the time of Europe ("borrowing" their rituals, holiday trips and Goddess/Gods to make the conversion much less complicated to take). So of course, the Pagans have been there first.

I sometimes chuckle at them, especially the self-righteous ones.
They don't upset me, nor do I feel like they hijacked anything. Christians have put their own stamp on the holidays, so they're not at all like what I celebrate. Holidays are so commercial now that any resemblance to what they used mean is gone anyway.

I just do my own thing. Ahhh....freedom!
