Abnormal - meaning outside the perception of normal behavior.
Usually the average person doesn't read the bible (if they are christian) for longer periods then a few hours at a time. But it's not unheard of for people to read the bible cover to cover and over and over again during thier spare time during waking hours.
It is outside the realm of normal behavior to not sleep for 3-5 days, period. So to read the bible for 3-5 days without sleep is abnormal just because it's not average for anyone to engage in any activity for 3-5 days straight without sleep.
If you're tweeking and reading the bible for 3-5 days.. then i'd say that it's still abnormal because usually you move onto a different subject after the second day. It's an exciting read, but I wouldn't think that it would catch a tweekers attention for more then 72 hours.

It is abnormal to miss sleep for 3-5 days for any reason. You will start hallucinating, since your body and mind must have sleep, rest and dreams, whether you like it or not.
To read a book for that long, you will probably not retain much, and get really confused. The bible is confusing enough in little bits.
If you really want to learn anything, read a little and study and think and roll it over, talk it over, and then go to the next little bit. That way you remember, and have some background to frame your ideas.
Read other religious texts besides the bible to help you figure out what you believe and what you don't believe.

No, it is not abnormal. There are so many encouraging scriptures for all of us to read. Some parts were probably so interesting to you, that you could not put the bible down. It is commendable that you are reading the bible, keep it up. But get some sleep first, you want a clear head so you can get the full benefit of your reading. And don't forget to meditate on what you read. That will really help you get closer to God. And help you see how the bible can help you personally.

The Bible stands for Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth. This is not abnormal for you to do. If this is what brings you happiness then keep on reading. I think that it would be hard not to sleep in 3 days, I could not do it. I think that God is proud of you for taking so much interest in him. There needs to be more people like you! Good Luck.

I not sure. I wanted to read through the Bible one time and Bought the Bible on CDs that is in the same Translation as my Bible. Dramatized too with Music and Various Voices. I sat down, opened my Bible, started the first CD and started reading along. I read through the Entire Bible in about 8 days if I remember correct. It was enjoyable and now I can say I have read the whole Bible. Also, I may have read through it faster than anyone ever has. Heck, if I had thought I should have called "Guinness World Records" and had it verified! Ha!!!

I don't think it's a question of "normal" or not. When I get into a book that I absolutely cannot put down, I usually read it until I finish it. I would think that reading The Bible would have an even greater effect because it is THE book of life. I would force yourself to get at least a day or two break from reading it, or at least force yourself to put it aside, eat a good meal and get at least 4 or so hours of sleep. I'm not a doctor, a shrink, etc. Just my opinion. Keep up the passionate work!

Not at all. It every man's life there comes a time where they question society and reality as a whole. This is when they will search and search. I'm sure the Bible really interests you because it contains so much information on life.
The real question is, what is truly peace of the mind? What is truly happiness? Is happiness really ever lasting? Is heaven really the ultimate answer to life?
But why do people really suffer in the first place. Those are some questions you might find in google. LOL

It's somewhat abnormal. I get that way with some books and games, though, and I know a lot of other people who do as well.
Believe me, you will do a lot better if you force yourself to put the book down and go do something else for a little while-- go outside and get some fresh air, go for a walk, talk to someone on the phone, or just relax with your eyes closed. Talk to a friend about what you are reading and discuss it with them; try to get some feedback.
Don't try to force yourself to sleep if you are not sleepy, but on the other hand try not to disturb others who may be asleep while you are reading.

Lack of sleep is definitely not healthy. Sleep deprivation is cumulative, so even a night or two of too little sleep has it's effects.
I'd also like to point out, the bible isn't that long. Why are you taking so long to read it? If you're cross referencing, I can understand, but straight reading? You should have finished it by now. Put it down, turn out the lights and get some rest! You're no good to anyone, least of all yourself, if you die of exhaustion.
