Yes my old cat did. We could half to put the cat in the garage. We never found out exactly why it was meowing either. It only did it at night and its litter box was inside the House it has food and water and we even tried leaving some lights on or turning them all off the same with the T.V thinking maybe the cat did not like no sound or something? Still the cat kept up with it. I would be happy to hear what some of the reasons could be. The cat probably wanted attention.

Have a shot and a beer before bed and you won't be such a light sleeper! lol
My cats don't wake me up that much. Couple times a week maybe. They sometimes wake me up because they're chasing each other across the bed (that's fun). Once in a while they knock something over.... but as for cater walling-(pun intended)- my older male cat does tend to cry out at night but usually I can say "FIGARO!" and he quiets down. Give your cat a catnip toy an hour before you go to bed and hopefully she'll 'burn herself out' physically. Do you know if she's screaming at another cat outside? Another possibility is if she's spayed or not. If not- get her spayed.
The only other thing is to close the bedroom door but then she may start crying because she doesn't have access to you.
Here's a link with some causes and solutions.

Hope this helps and say 'meow' top your kitty from mine Figaro & Rosina. Have a great day!!!

Mine does that sometimes. They are nocturnal so when we're trying to get some shuteye, they're turning into little party animals.
That aside, I've had cats for years and moaning and groaning could be a few things.
In my cat's case, he is neutered (for years now). I think he misses the other cats, especially my Persian that used to wrestle with him at night. One cat died earlier this year and the Persian had to be put down almost two years ago. The house is emptier (of people too) and so, I think he's feeling a bit needy due to loneliness. I try to give him quality time when I get home and am investing in large cat toys for him to play around in.
Other causes could be - unspayed female cat in heat, or issues with elimination (constipation or whatever)
Give her some TLC and if that doesn't do it, perhaps it's time for a check up at the vet.

Cats are night animals by nature.
If it is a male cat, might be in heat and is calling for a female.
If female, normally heat will show up during the day as well, the cat will somewhat lay down but put its rear end up high in the air and moan as well.
Might be the cat see's another cat outside a window and is growling at it to say "get away from my territory".
Also could be something as simple as your snoring is freaking the cat out and takes it as a threat from another cat. Making the cat hide in the dark and just growl and moan as a warning for the animal it can't find or smell.....cause its you making the noise.

Cats sllep during the day and prowl at night its their nature,so I don,t know why you cat is moaning and groaning at night.you might try keeping her up all day so she will be tired at night, the only other option would be to put it in another room or shake her awake everytime she growns and tell her NO! Maybe a vet could tell you.I had a cat once that everytime I held her she dwolled all over me she would get me alll wet, took her to the vet to find out why,He said she was in Love with Me..weird huh?

Is she spayed? If not get it done ASAP...her hormones may be causing this. Also, she might be lonely and bored...get her a play mate and create some interesting obstacle courses. Change the obstacle course every once in a while. Cats need a lot of stimulation to be healthy, happy, and mentally stable. if the behavior persists, put her and her new playmate in their room at night, with some rotated toys, and obstacles(you can make a kitty haven with boxes), food, water, litter box, beds. This will help regulate her sleep to sleep at night, but still have ways to burn off some excess energy and boredom.
Hope this helps!!!

Yup..sounds just like my cat Sam.
First I tried ignoring him,,he yowled louder.
Then I tried spritzin him with the water bottle..he yowled and hid.
So I give up..and am doing what my vet friend suggested,,,I am getting him his own pet cat. She thinks he is lonely at night and a companion will entertain him. I think I am gonna have two cats yowlin alll night...
If this don't work , I am going on the night shift. I will have peace at night, and maybe I will spend my day yowlin at Sam.

My cat has a routine.
1. give her night time crunches ( dry fancy feast ).
2. tell her she is the worlds most beautiful Muffin in the world. ( her real name is Fumiko).
3. change my clothes & get in bed and have her bed made so she can join me.
4. get under the covers she'll join me under there if it's cold outside.
5. pet her and tell her she is the world most beautiful girl.
6. see if shes a sleep and then continue to pet her until I fall a sleep.

My cats tear **** up all night. There's crashing & banging, growls, etc. And I only have 2 cats. I think my house must be haunted, I live in an extremely old house in New England, so its a definate possibility that 'something' is bothering them. Or maybe they just want me sleep-deprived??

My son's cat is an indoor cat and always comes to me at night and when in heat. I took a spray bottle, squirted her rear from where ever i was. she took off ,but quit. Whenever she was going to do something wrong she would look at me first. reach for spray bottle, she takes off or stops crying. Don't soak her, just squirt.. have a nice day!
