Any time after Tri Sandhya. Read the following and follow if you could or otherwise just do the Lakshmi Pooja in a simple way.
Sarva Ashta Aaishwarya Laabha Pradayini
Sri Sri Maha Lakshmi Visesha Poojaa.
In general, human life falls under two grand divisions-Yogas and Arishta, or fortunes and misfortunes. Fortunes include success in every field. Arishta or misfortunes include all sorts and sources of sorrows.
Misfortunes or miseries are more important than fortunes or sources of happiness. When bright fortunes rule a person, he / she will have no difficulty in adjusting his/her surroundings and enjoying their results. Similarly when misfortunes have an upper hand with a person, then the person will not only be unnerved but also will be at loss to know how to meet them.
Arishta means Daridra (sufferings / poverty); in general, Daridra are of eight types, hence we often say Ashta Daridra (eight types of sufferings). Likewise the enjoyments are also of eight types, so we say Ashta Aishwariya. Therefore, in order to get rid of Ashta Daridra and attain Ashta Aishwariya, Sri Ashta Maha Lakshmi Pooja is often recommended.
Goddesses always occupy superior position in India. We believe Sri Saraswathy Devi for Vidhya, Sri Paarvathy or Mata Durga for protecting the innocent and punishing the wicked persons and Sarva Sri Maha Lakshmi for providing all sorts of Ashta Aishwariyam.
Sri Maha Lakshmi is referred as Chandra Sahodari (sister of the Moon) in our old-gold Vedic Texts. The life on the earth could not be imagined without the presence of Moon; likewise the life without the blessings of Sri Maha Lakshmi, sister of the Moon, cannot be very bright. In the Kanaka Dhaara Stotram, Sri Maha Lakshmi is referred as ‘Soma Amruta Sodarayai” –meaning- sister of the sweet Moon. Hence falling unto the feet of Sarva Sri Maha Lakshmi will definitely yield good results. It is believed that SHE alone has the absolute power and deep mercy to increase our Ashta Aishwariya and lessen our sufferings or Ashta Daridra.
After the formal Ganpathy Pooja and Maha Sangalpam, the devotee has to perform fourteen types of Maha Abhisheka to Sri Maha Lakshmi Prathima made of either silver or gold. The Maha Abhisheka items are: - Til-oil, Turmeric, Sandalwood paste, Coconut water, Rose water, Curd, Milk, Sugarcane, Musambi, Dry fruits, Honey, Kadi shakkar. Panchamrutam and Fruits. Thereafter, the person doing the Pooja has to perform Sri Maha Lakshmi Praana Pratishta Pooja with due Vedic Maha Mantras.
Then, Sri Maha Lakshmi Prathima should be placed in the center of eight sets of beetle, nut and banana considering them to be Sri Ashta Maha Lakshmi namely Aadi Lakshmi, Dhaanya Lakshmi, Dhairya Lakshmi, Gaja Lakshmi, Sandana Lakshmi, Vijaya Lakshmi, Vidhaya Lakshmi and Dhana Lakshmi and do Ashta Maha Lakshmi Pooja.
After the completion of Sri Ashta Maha Lakshmi Pooja, Sri Maha Lakshmi Ashtotra Maha Archana is to be performed to the Silver or Gold Prathima of Sri Maha Lakshmi with fullest correct Swara, Shabda and Ucharana meaning with clear tone and clear pronunciations of each word.
Any person right from the category of VVIP to a category of an ordinary layman/woman can do this Pooja on any auspicious day either at his/her residence or at his/her business place. Sincere involvement and true dedication during the Pooja hours will definitely yields quick and good results!
