I once heard a quote that was something like i don't want you because I need you but I need you because I want you. Is that correct? If not what is the correct quote.

it actually said

I do not love you because I need you, but I need you because I love you.

It is the best thing any person can say to a loved one.

Take out the because and insert but. It is from a song. ♀
