I have never seen them wear gloves here, either.
I wonder why workers at places like Subway have to wear gloves, but not McDonald's and Burger King? They handle the food just as much there as they do at Subway.

When you work for a fast food industry like McDonald's or Burger King, IT IS REQUIRED to wear gloves whenever food is handled. Otherwise, not only is it unsanitary, it is a health code violation as well. I know this because I used to work for McDonald's in Brooklyn, New York and I was always required to wear gloves whenever I had kitchen duty.

I work at a McDonalds in Tennessee and we do wear gloves when handling raw meats. We use tongs and scoops when preparing your food. Employees are required to was hands atleast once an hour or after cleaning, or every time they enter the grill area.

No they ARE required to wear gloves. When I was pregnant I went to MC Donald's and ordered a sandwich, I saw the manager making my food without gloves, I asked the other manager are they required to wear gloves, and she said yes. I pointed the manager out that was making my food and they reprimanded her! When you are dealing with other people's health or your own, you should take special precautions. Call the health department, or don't eat there anymore

Worked at both. We have to wash hands darn near constantly, and the ones in grill need gloves. Hair has to be tied back, but there's somehting I"ll warn you about fast food joints: they do not seperate chicken and fish in the fryer. Thought I should let out an allergy alert!
