It looks almost greasy and I don't know how to fix it. I have tried changing shampoos, but it doesn't help. Could it be my blowdryer or straightener? I have been using both for a long time, but this just started.

If you just want it to look better you can comb baby powder through your hair, it will absorb any extra oil giving it a dry normal look.

Try shampooing less often and just let the water run through your hair instead. Sometimes over shampooing over activates the oil glands. The water will help push the oil molecules out of the hair. When we strip the oil by shampooing too often it makes the oil glands work overtime to produce more oil. As a professional cosmetologist I have asked many clients with such problems to just try for 2 weeks shampooing every other day and running water through on the other days and style as usual. If it does not work then do as you want. All have said it works!

This may sound wierd, but you may want to wash your hair less. Make your sebacous glands slow down with the production of oils. The more we wash our hair the greasier it becomes as the glands begin to produce more with each wash. Also, try to not use your blowdryer and straightener every day. This activity with your scalp also produces oils each day. In addition, using both of those you are probably using styling products too, which also makes the hair seem greasier. Switch all of it around a bit. Wash every other day, the days you wash don't do everything that day, do it all the second day. Good Luck!

Sounds like you need a good purifying shampoo. Go to Sally Beauty Supply and get a shampoo called "Quantum Clarifying". It works great. I wouldn't recommend it for everyday use though. It might dry your hair out a bit. I use it once a week.

Also, try not to use too much conditioner or hair serums too close to your scalp. The new hair is healthy enough so concentrate your efforts on the ends.

Step one to get rid of oily hair is not wash everyday. The cleaner your hair is the more it can seep into your glands and harder it is to get rid of. When you do wash make sure you are washing with a cleaning shampoo and scrubbing the build up off.

Take in mind that you also have to have a ph-balanced mild shampoo and lite scrubbing is recommended. Try to avoid conditioner at the roots, apply in the middle or on the ends.

Try to avoid oil in your daily food intake. And do eat more vegetables. You could visit your doctor but only after you check and consider your diet, drugs, alcohol, and your fatty food intake.

To fix at the moment, rub a little Talcum Powder on your dried hair at the roots. Just make sure you wash it out.

Your hair and scalp, unlike mine, isn't very porous. You have greasy hair and I usually suffer from dry hair, but i am also a black woman. your hair is probably fine and mine goes from coarse to manageable with a little oil and heat. Maybe you don't need to use a moisturizing shampoo if you use a conditioner (too much oil), and then when you do shampoo--leave the rich lather on for about three-five minutes before rinsing out.

Start oiling your hair. After a few weeks, your scalp will readjust to produce less oil (sebum). Once a week, try applying jojoba oil. Massage thoroughly, leave on for atleast 1/2 h, and shampoo off. The molecular structure of jojoba oil is very similar to our natural sebum. So, if applied regularly, it can fool your scalp into producing less of the natural wax.
