Louise, the reason third world countries want nuclear weapons is because superpowers like Russia, China, and the United States already have them. IN most cases, small third world countries don't have any say in any matters. It isn't until they are viewed as a threat that they have some power. Pakistan, India, and Israel are the most recent countries to go nuclear and they have gained a high amount of status and privilege within the U.N. and the world. It shows that the threat is rewarded. Who wouldn't want that?

As for this question, I plan on being dead before the world comes to that, but I do know that the military is working on AI robots to perform certain duties on the battlefield. I think we will come to that sooner than we realize. I just hope that the people who are working on these projects have seen the Terminator, iRobot and other such movies.

I believe you have mixed two separate issues. The "Terminator" movies were about technology, not size. The issue here is also referred to as "man ex machine" (man vs. machine). The issue of size is separate from this. Considering the state of political development in the world, i do not believe that even a badly governed country like North Korea could start a world war similar to WW I or WW II.

Well maybe not Terminator style wars, but, the end of the world as we know it perhaps! You see the more missiles we use the more the Ozone layer is affected, eventually the ozone will cease to exist and we will be sucked into outer space....

no because no major power has gone to war with each other in the past 60 years and there are no real signs of a new big war. most wars in the world are between developing countries not developed countries.

We can all see it heading that way - those with any brains anyway. What we need is a radical re-think of our war strategies.

Send all the politicians to war instead - it will only last 10 mins, if it ever gets started at all.

God will end life on Earth. In His Book He proclaims we will always have wars and rumurs of wars. It's a Spirital war that will only be won when Christ
Returns.

As long as we continue to divide our self's into races, cultures, and religions; and allow our arrogant pride to rule our life's. Then yes the world will always be at war, and obviously as technology advances so will our war fighters.
