IT HURTS ON THE ENTIRE LEFT SIDE AND IN MY EAR

when you have severe toothache it hurts like hell and ya it effects your ear and eyes also. I avoid going to dentist and only three months back, I suffered from the same pain which I thought is worst in my life. Some people suggested clove oil but it wasn't any help for me coz after a few moments the pain reoccurred. I took pain killer (which had amount of paracetamol in it) and it is OK now. I know you are afraid of dentists like me. But I would suggest that, for now, take a pain killer and after that definitely, definitely, definitely.. go to a dentist. I know it's easy to give suggestion then to follow, but somehow I too would gather courage and go to a dentist soon, I guess!
Bless me courage. And same to you.
I will pray for you coz I know how badly it hurts.

I understand that you can not afford to pay a dentist, but there are dentist that will work with you. They use a company called care credit. Most people qualify and the dentist pays the intrest charges.
I am not a dentist, but I am a certified dental assistant. I have treated many people in your position. Using orajel for pain is not the answer, like you said, it only lasts a few minutes. Take 2 or 3 ibuprophen (which acts as an anti inflamitory) and call a care credit dentist. I believe care credit has a web site. Try carecredit.com.
If you continue to let this go you will start to notice swelling. This is more painful! If you do experience swelling take a hot washcloth and place it on the area. Do Not use Cold! Cold can only make matters more painful.
If you are unable to find a local dentist that carries care credit go to the emergency room. They will give you antiboitics and can help you find a dentist to meet your needs!
Good luck!

The other option other than going to your dentist is over the counter medication. Advil works well. Take it two tablets of 200 mg, every 8 hours with food. That should help with the pain.
You can also ask your family doctor to prescribe you stronger pain killer and also antibiotic, such as Amoxilcilin 500mg three times a day for 1 week. I wonder if your doctor will charge you for the visit. If he does then you may as well go straight to your dentist. IN THE END, you still have to go to the dentist because the pain can goes away BUT it will always come back.

You really need to go see a dentist. As others suggested, you could go to the clinic. Or, there are some dentists that will actually put you on a payment plan. Just call around. You could get really sick from not seeking medical attention. One of my friends had a serious toothache that ended up poisoning her and made her have serious stomach pain. You can't play with your health.

Bottom line is that you need to see a dentist. If the pain is spreading, it could get dangerous. If you can find a dental school, they usually have rates that are much lower than in private practices. If you have a credit card, I'd suggest using it. Otherwise Advil or Tylenol is about as good as you can do for pain control . . . but it is only masking the problem. Good Luck!

You probably have an abcess. There are no home remedies that will cure your abcessed tooth. An abscess is an infection and if left untreated could have serious consequences. You need to get to your dentist immediately and get on antibiotics and review treatment options. In the meantime ibuprofen will help. You can also try warm compresses, but get in ASAP! It will only get worse with time.

I found this on a website and thought you might want to read this...

Left alone, abscesses can become quite serious. In the days before antibiotics and modern surgery, dental abscess was a common cause of death. Upon occasion, especially in the case of an untreated abscess of an upper front tooth, the patient can get a brain abscess which can kill him. This brain infection is called cavernous sinus thrombosis.

I don't want to scare you, but it is serious.

I hope this helps and good luck!

If you have some antibodies I would start taking them. Make sure they are for that type of infection. And oil of clove is very good it will help with the pain. You can by it at grocery store, pharmacies and etc. And if it is a cavity and has a hole in it, at rite aid they have a temporary filling you can put in the cavity and it will keep the air out of it. Helps allot. And if you don't have a heating pad put hot water in a liter of pop bottle or some kind of bottle like that and put it on you tooth and ear to help sooths the pain some. I know how it is to have a tooth ache just have one last month for 3 weeks before anyone would even pull it for me because it was a wisdom tooth.
