I want to switch from dish to direct tv............but who takes down all the chords and the old dish that is running around the house? Will Dish do it or will direct tv do it when they are installing our new system???? Thanks!!!!!!!

It would be pretty easy for you to use the same cable runs and then just have the Direct TV installer replace the old dish and run any new cable that is needed.

The only way you can get dish to take off the satellite dish is if you call a local retailer in the area and pay them. Direct may or may not use the cables but chances are they wont take off the old dish unless you pay them more. And if you ever cancel with direct the won't take off their dish either so you get two dishes on you house!

You new provider will take your old stuff down... for a fee depending on the independent installer. You can sell your old stuff on ebay for all those kids out there that like to get the programming cards and get free dish. :-)

Sorry you bought it. It stays. Unless you remove it. Another provider will use their own stuff. They usually won't use another company's.
