Doesn't everybody do that, I think that it is natural to feel that way now and again, life is full of decisions and responsibility and loads of stuff, sometimes you just need to breathe!

Very astute .., but convoluted way to ask and answer your own question.
Yes ,as the book explains, men are from Mars..,and yet WE Martians also have minimal understanding of the Venusian mind.
Kind of just the way we are all programed, I guess!
P.S.... Hey POOKS, you must be very young or lacking true insight into the mechanics of a relationship..., Men naturally go to their caves to mull things over.., afraid!!!! come on, be real!! insulting a man ,like that ,will get you no where. [WE] are no more "afraid than a woman is in the same situation.., [WE] just handle things differently than the other "species".., women do !!

Men do indeed withdraw into a shell from time to time. To be honest, exist in a shell is the only thing I do.
It isn't that they are from mars, but because they are just less emotional (or like to appear that way) than women.

The difference between men and women is that women are more comfortable talking about their feelings than men. It's harder for a man because of the risk (and I've found out that this is just in our heads) of losing some of his masculinity by being sensitive. There has to be a real trust between two people when communicating their thoughts, and sometimes that "safe zone" we can open up in is hard to find.
Men have different ways of expressing themselves, be it through sport, talking with the lads, of finding their own space for a while. Give him his space, he'll talk when he's ready.

yes :)
It's because most men, like women don't want to be hurt and they are quite possibly feeling vulnerable. Also sometimes being in a 'relationship' can make some men feel emasculinated and pulling back is a way to bring back the 'macho' inside.
Could be a number of things

no its coz just like us - men need a bit of their own time to sort out themselves as well!
Its a natural occurence and need by every individual and their need to spend time alone with themselves should be respected! xx
