It should say on the papers. But I think that it is usually between 30 and 60 days. I would check with the bank or company that foreclosed on you so you don't have the cops show up and help you toss your stuff on the street when you are not out by the deadline.

good luck and sorry to hear about your foreclosure.

It depends really. If the bank or mortgage company has started a foreclosure suit against you, you will be served court papers by the sheriff or by a process server. You should receive a summons (a notice from the court which tells you that a case has been filed and how long you have to respond to the complaint), a complaint, and possibly an order to show cause. These papers come with a deadline (usually specifically provided in the summons)! So, as soon as you get them, read them. Try to talk with an attorney about them so you can get some advice about what to do. If you delay in responding or do not show up in court, an order of default may be entered against you. This would be like automatically losing the case. The next piece of paper you could receive might be a notice to leave your house after the foreclosure sale is completed.

So depending if there's a date for a court hearing it could be any amount of time.

If your house has actually been foreclosed - you need to leave immediately. There are warnings leading up to the foreclosure, where you either pay the amount owed or pack. Once the foreclosure is final, your legal options are exhausted.

The standard rule is 30 days. The foreclosure/eviction documents should give you a specific date.

our house was forclosed on and my man and I were splitting up at the same time, i believe it was only weeks before they locked it up and we couldn't get the rest of our stuff out. my best advice to give you is to rent a storage unit, move all of your important stuff out first and get as much out as fast as you can....I lost a lot of memorable stuff in that house. Also, things will get better, we just bought another house. best of luck!

You might want to check with the police at your sheriff's department. I think they remove people who stay too long, so they would know the answer.

~The foreclosure is not a removal order. Stick around until you're evicted. Gives you plenty of time to trash and gut the place.
