oral cancer is curable?

It depends on the severity and how soon it was diagnosed. Whoever was diagnosed should have been told by that doctor what to expect and the treatment options, if not, a second opinion is not only warrented but deserved. No one should be told something like that and then nothing else. There are lots of treatments out there for oral cancer and many specialists who deal with just cancer in the mouth/throat. My advice? Get a second opinion and third and fourth if needed.

Approximately 50% of people with oral cancer will live more than 5 years after diagnosis and treatment. If the cancer is detected early, before it has spread to other tissues, the cure rate is nearly 75%. Unfortunately, more than 50% of oral cancers are advanced at the time the cancer is detected. Most have spread to the throat or neck.
