Praying to Jesus to get a mustard stain out of your carpet doesn't work. Praying to get a passing grade on your term paper doesn't cut it. Praying for Jesus to heal you when seeking medical treatment, who needs a doctor!

Praying to Jesus to instantaneously heal a burn victim would impress me. Praying to Jesus to regrow a severed limb outstanding. He stops a tsunami in its tracks, I'm getting a bible!

I know If it doesn't happen it wasn't His will. We can't rationalize anything.

My last statement was to read, we can rationalize anything. My apologies.

Praying is the same as wishing on a Lucky Horseshoe. It just doesn't work. People pray because they feel like they somehow feel better about things. What they are really doing is giving themselves false hopes and Bullsh*tting themselves. It's Sad.

The miracles in the Bible were used to prove to the non believers that God did exist and these miracles were witnessed by many people, to many religions are trying to use the same methods to convert non believers today, if they can perform miracles why are they charging people to get in to get healed then have pre-chosen people to claim that they are healed? These people are in it for the money....if I truly had the power to heal I would be going to the hospitals and healing at no charge.
As for those that are claiming he hasn't moved a mountain, all they have to do is wait, there will be a lot more than mountains moving in the last days, the Bible says that the earth will be shaken so violently that it will definitely get the non believers attention. It is still God's decision who to heal and who not to heal.
Why can't people get that thru their heads? True healing comes when a persons heart is touched by the Lord at the point of their Salvation...
Always remember the only man made thing in heaven will be the scars in Christs hands and feet and the scars from the beating he took before he was crucified.

Miracles can count for anything. There are no requirement for something to be a miracle. For all you know, getting a mustard stain out of an outfit could be a miracle for someone. For all you know, the outfit could have belonged to that person's mother of father and that is the last tangible piece they have of that person.

For all you know, a person who gets a passing grade on a term paper could have been at the hospital all night with their kids and didn't have time to study.

Every little thing is a miracle. Things don't always go according to how we want them to. Jesus could (and still does) miracles like what you said above. I had a close friend that had cancer. She went in for check ups, and it was still there. We prayed over and prayer over it. And then during one check up, it was completely gone.

However, as you say above "Praying to Jesus to instantaneously heal a burn victim would impress me," why does Jesus have to impress you? Jesus does not have to answer to us. He does not have to perform miracles the way that we think they ought to be done.

Do you want faith based miracles, or do you want magic tricks? Be sure you know the difference. One goes deeper than the other, and if you genuinely and sincerely seek God, then you will see the miracles that have been right before your eyes the whole time, but you just didn't see. Get a bible anyway, and seek to understand, from someone who has studied the bible and the teachings of Jesus. You have nothing to lose.

Jesus Christ is a guy, and the son of God. God created the seed that impregnated Mary so as that he could have the aptitude to be a suitable, sinless guy. Numbers 23:19 a (King James version) God isn't a guy, that he could desire to lie; neither the son of guy, that he could desire to repent: If Jesus Christ become God, he ought to not have been the appropriate sacrifice. He represented the appropriate and in simple terms top passover lamb, which in accordance to Exodus 12 had again from "between the flock." If Jesus Christ become God, their wills could have been same, yet in Luke 22:40 two, whilst Jesus become interior the backyard of Gethsemane he stated "nevertheless not my will, yet thine, be executed." additionally, evaluate here 2 verses. Hebrews 4:15 For we've not an severe priest that may not be touched with the sensation of our infirmities; yet become IN ALL factors TEMPTED like as we are, yet without sin. If youre in doubt, your prayers wont find answers.

Doubts are the exact opposite of prayers which are a form of hope presented to God so that He may answer them with solutions. His solutions might be very different than what you think you need. Like a child that thinks eating oreos and milk all day is good for him.

Thenagain, Hes God, He has the right to not accept your prayers doesnt He? But I believe He is all Fair, so He will accept given youve presented your hopes upto Him properly ; 'WHERE ARE YOUU??!! WHY DIDNT YOU SAVE MEE??!!AAAARRGGHHHH'

What is that? sounds more like youd overthrow Him if you could.

Hey, also, pray to God, not a human ^^ u know..Jesus being born human and all....sigh

They are, but newspapers are probably reticent to acknowledge them for fear of ridicule. One lady was misdiagnosed , having severe pains in her side died from appendicitis. She immediately was in heaven but saw on a beam going up a prayer for her in Jesus' name & returned. Life came back into her body and she sat up & the nurse screamed(she was greenish also). A Dr. Eby fell from a 2nd floor balcony all his blood drained & he was DOA. He too was in heaven when Jesus told him to come back & tell his story. A 9 yr old boy was wheeled into a tent service with 29 ailments by his mother who spent all their $ to get there. During the healing sermon there arose a commotion, all eyes were on the boy. His tongue snapped out and into place, his club feet were flattened out, his arms cracked and fell into place and so forth. Great news right? The question is why won't the news print or show these things and what would happen if they did?

FAQ: Why aren't more miracles done to convert people to Christianity?

"When only a miracle leads a person to acknowledgment of God and to adoration and piety, he acts from the natural and not the spiritual man. For a miracle infuses belief by an external and not an internal way, thus from the world and not from heaven. The Lord enters man by an internal way, by the Word and by doctrine and preaching from it. As miracles close this way, no miracles are done today" (Divine Providence n. 131).

Man is not brought by external means to think and will, thus to love and believe what pertains to religion, but the man brings himself and compels himself to do so. Self-compulsion is not contrary to rationality and freedom. (Divine Providence n. 129).

"Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me."

-- Rev. 3:20 KJV

Miracles do not induce faith. "That miracles are of this nature can be clearly established from those performed in the presence of the people of Judah and Israel. Although they beheld many miracles in the land of Egypt and later at the Red Sea and others in the Wilderness and particularly on Mt. Sinai when the Law was promulgated, nevertheless, in a month's time while Moses tarried on that mountain, they made themselves a golden calf and hailed it as Jehovah who had led them out of the land of Egypt (Ex 32:4-6). Again, it is plain from the miracles done later in the land of Canaan; nevertheless the people fell away time and again from the prescribed worship. It is equally plain from the miracles which the Lord did before their eyes when He was in the world; yet they crucified Him. (Divine Providence n. 132).

Wash your own mustard stain out of the carpet, study for your test, and stop expecting flashy miricals. Most of them are very subtle.

I know this guy who had cancer. In the middle of surgery, he slipped into a coma and the doctors believed that he would die. HIs mother and I prayed for a month straight and not only did he wake up (despite what the doctors thought) but his cancer was gone and it never came back. That, my friend, is a mirical and the power of prayer.

Look at all the millions of people who prayed for the hostages in Iraq. They were still beheaded. God must be on the side of the terrorists.
