That's exactly it. They don't expect to be around much longer, so they don't care much about taking care of the earth, even though God placed humankind in charge of the earth and expressly said we are to take good care of it. Idiots.
That's also why they foment violence in the Middle East. They want war between Israel and its neighbors, because in their sheer lack of biblical understanding they think that Israel must recapture some land, and build a temple where a holy mosque now sits in Jerusalem, before the so-called "rapture" will take place.
True Christians disavow these heretics.

I'm a Christian, and I don't deny global warming is happening. Actually, I could care less, I'm just passing through this world. Besides, do you think that all your whining in the world is going to stop big business from destroying the environment? They know what they are causing, and they don't care. It's all about the dollar. (Why do you capitalize the g and w in global warming? Is that your religion? Are you what society commonly refers to as a tree hugger?) Are you sure you don't want to BLAME Christians for global warming? And as for your ridiculous comment about a 'sign', God said no signs shall be given, hence taking the Word on faith, stupid.( I really love the athiests that come here to spread dissension!) It's big business that's responsible for global warming, sport. They would like to shift the blame to individuals that use the things they create, but they have had the technology to make the world a better place to live for years, they just refuse to release the technology to the people because they make too much money the way things are. It's all about the dollar. For the love of money is the root of all evil. Have a nice day.

I believe in global warming, I believe that Jesus died for my sins and rose again Sunday morning, I will never believe in "the Rapture" since it is not biblical.
1 Thessalonians 4:16 & 17 The christians I know beleive like me. And as for a sign of Jesus soon return. well I believe that global warming, earthquakes in various places ie Hawaii, natural disasters of all kinds, tidal waves hurricans, wars, plagues, etc are all signs that the time for this earth is drawing to a quick close.

in the latest attempt to keep thier grip on power
some churches are going green...
they used to buy into destroying the earth because according to their texts god was going to anyways like another flood, send out a 'prince of peace' on a bloody jihad and massacre the infidels on a white horse
but now some modern day christians are dropping these old views and going green, seeing that it's also cheaper and they can have more money for proselytizing

If it were a "sign" of the rapture - they would embrace it. Christians WANT the rapture to happen - mainly so they can say "I TOLD YOU SO!!!" to the rest of the world.

Possibly, but most likely there's an agreement between the Churches and Republicans to support each others causes.

Because they can deny the science behind everything that will eventually happen, that way it seems like God did it. They are going to be so pissed when the world ends and they're still here!
