Jules so sorry you have tonsillitis, its very painful and can and does cause headaches in some patients. It's going to last anywhere from 7-10 days depending on what day your on and how bad you have it. Make sure to take all your meds, even when you start to feel better.
That is the key thing, patience--take your prescription as prescribed and I bet by tomorrow morning you'll be feeling much, much better. In the meantime take some Ibuprofen for your aches and pains and sip on hot (not too hot) lemon water with a bit of honey, it will soothe your throat and try to rest a lot. If your running a temp, the ibuprofen will help with that and the sleeping will help your body get stronger faster. If it hurts to swallow just remember to keep sipping something warm and that should help. Hope you feel better really fast!

there is fairly no shrink and dried answer i could provide you. Tonsillitis (word spelling) merely would not look out of the air. it fairly is via micro organism or viruses and it fairly is many times viral. "The well being care expert mentioned it incredibly is going to merely be a case of Tonsilitis and could flow away via itself. Antibiotics weren't given because of the fact A) I merely recovered from an antibiotic prompted ailment noted as C Diff, and the belief of going decrease back on them so quickly after restoration isn't an exciting concept B) They weren't mandatory?" -- partly, it incredibly is because of the fact tonsillitis is many times viral, for this reason antibiotic would not do any solid besides. And partly, because you merely recovered from C. diff (word decrease case). "How long does Tonsilitis final?" -- maximum viral tonsillitis lasts 2-5 days so there may be extra goiing with you.

My daughter had tonsillitis and with each new case it got more painful. She was in such pain she went to emergency to get help.
I would suggest going back to your Dr and if this is a reacurring infection suggest getting them out. She has been well for over a year now. Before when she had infections she lost 2 days of work or school. Hers started in Grade 5. Looking back she could have made her school years much more productive if Dr would have removed them then not when she was 19. I feel it is important to keep going to the same Dr or your Dr to be aware if this is an on going problem. If you are feeling to sick to go back to your Dr at least phone him for his advice.

The first two or three days are the worst. Normally it takes about a week or two to go but you'll be feeling much better after the first couple of days.
Sounds disgusting but try gargling with lukewarm water with salt or bicarbonate of soda in it. It helps heal your throat quicker.

Take antibiotics, you will be ok in under two days time! But see a good doc, for treatment to prevent recurrence!
