Anything that is the ripened ovary of a plant is a fruit. Even a sunflower seed is a fruit. Kernels of corn are fruit. An acorn is a fruit.

Is this a trick question or has the entire selection of fruits that i believed to be available just been made totally extinct with oranges being the only ones left?
bananas, pears, apples, nectarines, clementines, lemons, limes, melons, strawberries, raspberries, blackberries, blackcurrants, white grapes, red grapes, black grapes, kiwis, pineapples, mangos: christ i could go on... what happened to all these fruits? i want them back if oranges are all thats left!

No. They are just the only one of the ROYGBIV colors that is a fruit. There are a bunch of other colors named after fruit though like banana yellow, lime green, lemon yellow, etc.

They're the only fruit to have a colour as it's name... (just the colour alone, i'm not talking blackberry's or blueberry's here people...)
