Are females automatically in favor when looking for bartending jobs?

What chance as a male do I have of getting a bartending job in a good place? If a male and a female have the same skills, wont they favor the female just cause she is a female?

Many bars prefer male bartenders. Males are a better security feature than females when it comes to unruly patrons. Males are more likely to land bartending jobs in establishments where the bar is the primary form of income.

I see far more male bartenders, especially upscale restaurants. I've heard that for a female to be a bartender in those fancy clubs in big cities, they'd have to be very thin, attractive, and weigh in like once a week. I remember a news story where one woman got fired because she gained something like 5 or 10 pounds.

If it's what you want to do...go for it!

you have a decent chance, If your a good bartender.
I am male and worked as a bartender for 5 different bars.
It helps if your a good looking guy, so the woman who come in have somthing to look at.
Woman do have it esyer I know some female bartenders that have been hired with 0 exp just because they were Hot.

but most places look for someone with skill over looks, especially resturants that have Bars

not really...because girls want to flirt with their bartender to, you need male and female bartenders. Now at places where the customers are primarily men...the bar/business has an advantage hiring all females, but at a club or something...both

I have actually had more male bartenders than female, by far.

alot of bars hire guys-but most good bars have more men customers, so they want to look/talk/flirt with females. Plus we make better drinks-LOL
