Yes I do and I still have the nightmares to prove it. The major difference, a difference so obvious I am not surprised the obtuse asker missed it, was that the Vietnamese were fighting to gain a certain area of the world for their country and then they stopped. The terrorists have stated and preach that they want your country and you dead, erudite. Although the latter maybe a desirable goal the former would be a world tragedy for all its faults the US is a great idea worth protecting. The shrub is uncertain of the idea and dead wrong about how to defend it but the jihadists an Iraq certainly know what they want to destroy and how to do it. That's why the war will continue and if you lose you will look back on the war of today with fond longing because you will want to forget the hell that will be let loose on you. Not only from attacks from the jihadists but from the oppressive measures that will be forced on you to defend you at home. What your people will forget is the freedoms and rights your country was founded to establish. They will soon forget you for there will be no place for the pseudo intellectual questions you pose, the overtly biased opinion masquerading as fact. I wonder if they will shoot you or imprison you?

No, I disagree. I was in Vietnam in 1969. People who compare the two wars are wrong. The war in Iraq in so different. Do you ever wonder why the US has not been attacked again? the reason is that all the bad guys are in Iraq fighting the US. They are insulted that an Islamic country is being controlled by the US. You remember these words from me: As soon as the Liberals in the US win and they decide to end the war in Iraq, the US will again start to be attacked. No matter what support our troops.
They are keeping this country safe.
And by the way, you are wrong about people forgetting the Vietnam war. I certainly will never forget it.

I remember Vietnam well, I served there twice.... the soldiers were and are honorable, but the politicians were NOT, yet, they were correct, about fighting communism there.... because, whether you can see it or not, it is here... despite Vietnam.... lefties like Carter and Clinton and the Algore are too close to communist to suit me.
Vietnam was lost by chicken sh!t politicians, the military won that war... it was all over in 1968.... the left in the USA could not stand that.... they started the demonstrations that led to the North Vietnamese communists decision to try to hold on instead of surrendering.... Read NV Gen Giap's book.... had it not been for the 5th Column in the USA, they would have surrendered.... war protestors gave them succor and hope.... They are also right about fighting terrorists where they live, breed, feed, and are supported.... otherwise they will be here in the USA.... and YOU will be fighting them or trying to.... if political correctness doesn't neuter the effort....
For some strange reason, in mid-1968, the US stopped bombing the North, stopped offensive operations.... what do you suppose happened... yes, you guessed it....the NVA took advantage of the lull in our offensive operations and brought in reinforcements and supplies.... while we were reducing our troop levels due to the anti-USA demostrations here in the USA....
The sad truth is: Granada is the only military conflict the USA has won and brought to a successful conclusion since WW2.... Thanks to the leftist element, our nation does not fight to win anymore.... that is indeed a shame.... you can thank politicians and political correctness for that....
Winning a war against our enemies does not please the leftist element in this country.... they would rather appologize to our enemies for making them attack the USA, than fight for freedoms and rights....
Another sad truth is: the ILLEGAL ALIEN INVASION is the most important issue to the future of the USA and its sovereignty at the present time....
The war on the filthy Muslim terrorists is important, but we can leave there... after we toast the bastards.... but we live here in the USA.... and it is being systematically destroyed by illegal aliens... criminals every damn one of them... and those who support them in their criminal enterprise are traitors.

Hey Hairy Dyke, Don't you dare talk about Vietnam, you wannabe. Those of us that were there did our jobs above & beyond what was considered politically correct then & now. We were are brother's keepers & could care less what the world thought of us. Why don't you actually spend some time in the bush under fire before you start spewing the infantile logic you seem to think has validity? Anytime, anywhere, Airborne!!!

NO ONE 'forgot' Vietnam - ever -- not the servicemembers who were assigned over there, who dealt with the day-to-day conditions in the fields, who worked to help those in the local area they were stationed, and who had to endure the years of torture in the various 'camps' where our POWs were held and tormented prior to their release.
They are PROUD of their Military Service, and I am PROUD to say that they are some of the Strongest Supporters of the RIGHTS of the Servicemember today -- along with the WWII Vets still alive (remember -- they are in their late 80s to 90s plus).

What you say has little credibility, considering the number of times you have been caught with fabrications and lies within your posts.
