Lots of Green Tea with honey and lemon. The green tea helps eliminate free radicals that attack cells, making them able to fight off infection more efficiently. The honey helps keep the blood sugar up naturally, and the lemon just makes it taste better while providing sore throat relief and a minimum amount of Vitamin C.

I've also noticed that green tea bags help to eliminate conjunctivitis (pink eye) within minutes of putting them on your eyes.

Make some tea from boiling water, fresh lemon juice and honey. Keep sipping this and it will sooth the throat and give you a good dose of vitamin C which combats colds. Sniffing Eucalyptus from an inhaler or just oil on a hanky is good if you are blocked up. Also take some Ecchinacea and eat plenty of garlic - they work wonders for the immune system.

vitamin C is good to combat colds, especially if taken on the first symptom of catching a cold. u could take a suplement or better still consume food or drinks strong in vitamin c. citrus fruits (like oranges) and juices are stong in vitamin c, but be careful not to take them cold from the refrigerator. just take them in room temperature.

if taken prior to the colds, vitamin c helps in developing resistance to colds. if taken during colds also it helps a great deal. of course u should consume a lot of warm water and do a good steam inhilation as often as possible. applying some eucalyptus oil to the nose, forehead, throat and chest before steaming will work wonders and u will definitely feel relieved.

u could also try putting some turmeric powder and pepper powder with sugar in some boiling milk and drink it bearably warm.

try smashing some ginger into your tea and let boil for the juices to get in. drinking this will help clear your sore throat.

a hot water gargle with some salt in it would also help clear your throat.

a couple of saline drops in your nostrils after clearing them at bedtime would greatly help relieve nasal congestion.

and last but not the least, drink lots of water and gets lots of sleep. just forget that ur having a cold. just thinking of it all the time makes u feel more miserable.

There is NO real treatment for a cold. The worst part is the uncontrollable running nose which constant wiping makes sore. Rub on some cream or moisturiser regularly.

Drink plenty of water and eat foods rich in Vitamin C.

To help you sleep drink hot milk just before you go to bed and add a tot of whiskey or brandy to it.

Drink lots of fluids this will keep the mucus from thickening. Chicken soup, hot tea with cinnamon added, Gatorade to keep electrolytes up, lots of sleep and use a fresh Kleenex each time and dispose of used ones. Use a fresh pillow cover each night....

I like to soak in a hot bath as this helps with the congestion and body aches.

Put Vick's vapor rub on your chest and in each nostril. The menthol aroma is very soothing.....

peace

Yes. And don't get grossed out. Use a laxative the moment you feel a cold coming on. All that goo and mucus hang out in your intestinal tract to assist in moving food through your body. When you are harboring germs that are harmful to your body, you produce an over abundance of mucus that is trying very hard to slide all that badness out of your system. The extra mucus must go out of your body either through your waste system or back up out of your nose or mouth.

Lessen the mucus with a laxative and you lessen the problem altogether. Try it.

Aside from water, OJ, anything you can find loaded with vitamin C, try some hot and sour soup. I'm serious! It's a chicken-based soup of course, and that's been proven to have benefits, but the heat and spiciness of the soup will drain your sinuses! On top of being tasty and soothing.

Get well!
