Before arriving do I need: A sponsor or employer? A medical certificate or health check clearance? A permanent place to stay, ie name on a lease? Money in the bank? Or can I just rock up apply for a work visa over there and start working? Do I need to have residency?

If u want to come to Türkiye by a working visa, 3 months before arriving u need:
- A contract with an employer,
- Application to the Turkish Embassy in Australia for Working Certificate (They will ask your occupation, the contract with a Turkish employer and your health check clearance)

You have to do this application 3 months before arriving becoz of the Turkish Govn security investigation about you.

I think it would be easier for u to look for a job with a tourist visa in Türkiye. When u find a job, u would change it to a working visa and applicate to Security Directorate in Türkiye for Residence Permit.

Of corz ask Turkish Embassy for the better information.

Good luck...

Pierre--why do you like Turkey so much? I would love to visit Australia...such an awesome country. Anyway, can you call a local government worker to help you with the details? I don't know what the gov't in Australia is like, so that may be a silly question. Good luck!

i think of the probability of them passing rules that could desire to require me to offer up any of my firearms or ammo are nil. although, i think of there's a rattling wonderful hazard that they are going to pass a version of the attack rifle ban, making it unlawful for everybody to purchase particular weapons that cosmetically resemble attack weapons. they could additionally have the ability to shrink magazines to 10 rounds. in case you're thinking approximately identifying to purchase a gun it is appeared on any of the recent gun ban tries, gain this right now! i'm no longer so particular with reference to the ammo tax. it is perplexing to declare that an ammo tax is something extra desirable than an attack on gunowners. there is not any available "help the 2nd replace" spin there. i assume there's a great gamble that different issues could take priority, yet Obama have been given a great variety of help from effective anti-gun lobbies. He won't be able to permit his first term lapse with out action, or he won't get their help for re-election.
