you may be going to lie down focussing on people not disturbing you so then it attracts the experience...my fella has been on nights and had to stay up to go the hospital first thing..then at 11 am he finally got to bed..the council started mowing and trimming the grass outside, when they stopped his son visited when he'd gone his ex wife rang when she got off the phone his daughter rang then he had to go to work again ...arggh! i really felt for him

Ah, my friend always brings this up when I complain about something similar.
It isn't that every time you want sleep the phone rings or whatever, but when that does happen is the only time you notice it. So your distinct memories of trying to sleep will be when you are woken up again just before you drop off, whereas when you do fall asleep you don't notice it, and so you wake up and think nothing more about it.
