Yes, the Jesus of the Bible is a fictional character. IMHO, the position that he is purely mythical makes more sense than the unsubstantiated claims that he actually existed but was made into a legend.
There is actually evidence that he DIDN'T exist both within the writings of Paul, and in extrabiblical sources. I don't know why secular historians ignore this evidence and pander to the "oh he was probably an itinerant preacher" fantasy.

Oh my yes. I had my daughter still believing in Santa up to the 7th grade. After that she wouldn't accept any of my reasons. I tell her that Santa may not be a real person but he represents the magic of Christmas and is loved where ever he goes. She likes that. She still gets excited around Christmas because I do. I love this holiday.

He might be a fictional character to you...but to me He is very real...and when you prove that He doesn't exist send me proof and I might listen to you then...But let me ask you something? If God is real to me and I die and find out that my faith was correct...then I know exactly where I am going....But you go through life and you don't believe and then you die and discover He is.....? Do I need to say more....? with me I will be gaining eternity and will have lost nothing...but what about you...if you don't believe and die and find out He is...then you , my friend, have lost everything...Do you really want to risk it? and I think you are missing the whole point...God is not about proving or not proving He exist or doesn't exist...He is about Faith, Hope, Belief, and Trust....

that kind of thinking makes no sense at all..if you say no proof of existence outside of a book..that means nothing in history ever really happened and that makes history fiction too.

Actually, there is more mystery surrounding the idea that Jesus was the Son of God than if he actually existed; there's alot of information that you may be missing...
