The noise coming from the brakes may differ and some of it is actually a warning that yes the brakes have reached replacing stages. I f however you live in or drive through a dry dusty areas the it could be dust, how to find out is simple really , if the brakes squeal when you press the pedal it is dust if they squeal continuously then they need replacing, before you take it to a garage try one Of the available Brake cleaning sprays,

new brakes make noise..sounds like a squeal. If you're worried about your brakes then have them checked out to make sure they're still in place and not worn down. Sometimes mechanics put on cheap brake pads if they think you have the money to come back to them often. Check them out to be sure..

I don't know! How rough are you on the brakes? Some folks get 30,000 miles while others get 5,000! Pull the drums and rotors and look to see where you stand!

It's certainly possible, depending on how you drive. Take it in to have someone look at them, it shouldn't cost you very much at all. If you find the right chain store it might be free.

check your brake pads, it's not a matter of time/miles but rather your driving habits.
