When my hubby went for the test the first time, we were early(so we waited in the coffee shop until the appointed time) but he waited around 45 mins or more for the test to start. The 2nd time we were late by just a few mins after being caught in traffic but they sent him away because he was late. I assumed that the first occasion was just a one off so i told him not to say anything but he just went for the test again, he was on time and again they started the test around 45 mins late. He hasnt passed yet and im unsure it would be a good idea to complain in case it affects his citizenship application. I dont think its right and maybe most people wouldnt say anything so as not to make trouble but im angry, i dont think they should have refused to let him sit the test the 2nd time. What do you think?

Its not the delays i want to complain about, its the fact that he was only a few mins late and the other times he has been kept waiting. Why is it ok for them to decide he cant sit a test. If its a rule to be on time then no exception should be made for anyone. The test should start on time.

I have not had much experience with this but I would not think if it happens again an immediate complaint would be in order.
Maybe we could exchange your husband for that piece of low life called the reporter

If you're dealing with a National Government Department in the UK - called the Civil Service or Local Government with public servants you might as well get used to being made to wait. That's far better than trying to contact them through 140 levels of choices on the automated directions menu if you try telephone contact. This is a form of spiteful malaise called the 'Uncivil Service Slither' It's a response from our servants rather like the response of the staff in the old Green Shield Stamp shops were you appeared to be handing over stamps in exchange for FREE goods. Not all Civil and Public Servants have this malaise, but a rather large proportion do!

I think you should complain, it should make no difference to his application, Possibly the best way would be to contact your local MP or Councillor and asking them to take up your argument for you. Unfortunately it is possible that they wont beinterested as it is not the most glamourous of subjects to help you with. Hopefully your husband will pass soon and it is a shame some of those leaving the offensive mesages aren't asked to sit the test, I wonder how many would pass?

Put up & shut up would be my advice; you can complain about beauracracy causing delays but it will not do you much good.

Delays always happen and you want to do something so you must bear with it.
